The best just got better, the RADIOMASTER TX16S MKII is the ultimate open-source radio. It is still a high-end, low-cost, OpenTx radio that has many great features, and this version includes the powerful long-range ELRS protocol. With the MKII you get many new features, these include, improved internal circuitry, V4.0 Hall sensor gimbals for improved centering, improved ergonomics, redesigned battery cover, and improved knobs and sliders that are smoother with a better center ident.

The TX16S MKII transmitter supports EdgeTX and OpenTX open source firmware which is fully supported by the OpenTX development team. RADIOMASTER works closely with the EdgeTX team to develop and optimize the user experience and will continue to ensure that the concept and standards are carried forward into the future. The TX16S MKII is available in either an FCC version or a European LBT version, please check the specifications below for the supported protocol.

There is a module slot in the back of the transmitter which will accept the popular JR/FrSky/TBS Crossfire type of module which means you can be up and running almost instantly with your favorite protocols. There is no need to remove the external module if you have one plugged in as the TX16S can be switched easily between the internal RF and the external RF. The transmitter is also Mode selectable so it can be either Mode 1 or Mode 2, this does, however, require the back being removed to move some mechanical components from one stick unit to the other.

The supplied battery tray will accept either 2 x 3.7V 18650 Lithium-Ion batteries or 2 x 3.7V LiPo batteries. The large battery compartment (97x52x25mm) also has room for a 2S LiPo pack of your choice. A nice feature of this radio is that the batteries can stay in the compartment and be charged via the USB-C charging port. Another improvement of the MKII is that it now allows for charge rates of up to 2.2A. Other ports include a new 3.5mm audio jack, 3.5mm TRS trainer socket, a USB data port, SD card slot, and 2 UART ports to expand the capabilities of the radio.

Overall this improved MKII version is an easy-to-use, OpenTx transmitter with the ELRS protocol that has loads of features, and many improvements over earlier versions.
