The XFLY Swift 2100 is a versatile electric-powered glider that is quite happy flying fast and doing aerobatics or is equally at home flying slowly and just floating around. To achieve this versatility the XFLY engineers have used CFD (Computer Fluid Dynamics), which has enabled the Swift 2100 to achieve a high lift-to-drag ratio and excellent aerodynamic characteristics. The factory-installed power system includes an efficient 3136-1000KV brushless motor with 40A brushless ESC and drives a 10x6 2-blade folding propeller with metal spinner. This system can be powered by either a 3S, or a 4S LiPo battery to deliver plenty of thrust for fast climbs to soaring altitudes, aerobatics, and general sport flying.
Construction of the Swift 2100 is from tough EPO foam, which is then reinforced with carbon fiber throughout to achieve an airframe that is very strong and capable of withstanding high aerodynamic loads. Also included is a unique wing docking design that helps stop any wing distortion under high-g loads. The fuselage design includes a fixed wheel that is aerodynamically cowled in for landings, and tough plastic is also added to the wing tips and tail for landing on hard surfaces. The very generously sized battery compartment is accessed easily and quickly via the latched canopy, and this compartment will accept 3S, and 4S battery packs ranging from 2200mAh to 3300mAh.
Assembly is quick and simple, no glue is required, just 6 screws are used to enable you to have your Swift 2100 ready for flying in no time. Being Plug-N-Fly, the model is also supplied with 6 x 9g digital servos, these use ball-link equipped linkages on all control surfaces to deliver precise control responses to all your stick inputs. The functional flaps can be used for extra lift when soaring in thermals, or if mixed in with the ailerons you can set up "Crow Braking" for very short, and float-free precision landings.
