After reading the reviews I decided to give it a try. It DID work for me with a little mechanical intuition, but the other reviewers are correct, the shaft difference does make for a challenging conclusion. However, the soldering went well and the switch makes it a lot easier to utilize the different flight modes. Don't expect it to be perfect - the old knob certainly looks better on the 9XR and of course only fits the brass collar. Just be sure you get the set-screw to seat nicely on the flat part of the shaft. I took a dremel tool to the shaft as it was a little too long for my liking - it made the old knob stick up higher than the rest. Again, it worked for me.

Poor instructions - photos are incorrect and they tell you to re-use the brass collet. Unfortunately if you do this, you won't be able to use the new dial. I ended up re-using the existing potentiometer knob as it was a more solid setup than the plastic knob that comes in the kit. Also, the instructions don't clearly point out how to setup the 6 POS switch if you are using the more recent ERSKY9X firmware. Other than that though, it's a worthy add-on that provides very good functionality to help you get the most out of your 9XR/9XR Pro investment.
