A high thrust and well designed Electric Ducted Fan unit for high power applications, the 12 blade arrangement makes for a quiet fan unit with an amazing sound, this is the closest you will ever get to the sound of a Turbine!
Made with 30% FRP, the indivdual blades are not only able to absorb high power, high rpm motor set up's, this arrangement also allows for precise blade alignment and rotor balance. The blade locking arrangement is precise and simple to assemble, two rotor adapters are included, one for 5mm motor shafts and one for 8mm shafts, suitable motors are 36mm~39mm diameter. If you have noise concerns at your flying field or are just looking for that realistic Whoooshing sound, this is the fan for you!
Outside Diameter: 92mm
Rotor Diameter: 89mm blade
Material: carbon fiber reinforced Nylon rotor
Shaft adaptor to motor: 5mm or 8mm (8mm Not included. See related items)
Max RPM: 45000 RPM
* Please note, some 39-40mm motors may require material to be removed from the shroud or motor casing for a perfect fit.
Just to let everyone know!! Although Hobbyking says, "some 39-40mm motors may require material to be removed from the shroud or motor casing for a perfect fit," To be honest, 40mm motors will definitely NOT fit the edf shroud even after "material was removed!!" You are safer to choose up to 38mm can edf motors. The edf unit itself is a decent edf unit to a point.Make sure you get a duct from ebay. com/itm/2015-changesun-compatable-90mm-EDF-Duct-/181808177100?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a549c9fcc
It adds an enormous amount of power.Excellent fan with minimal balance
Pair this up with a Dr mad thrust 1600kv inrunner for impressive 6s performance.
Heres my video of the first flight with this fan/motor combo

This fan was a drop-in fit for my HK BAe Hawk. I used the Turnigy Fanjet 1500Kv motor on 8S for 3000W (~100A). NOTE: throttle limit is required on initial charge because 1500Kv is a bit much for 8S on this fan. Take-off and climb-out are effortless. The fan balanced easily with a bit of tape inside the spinner and now runs reliably and smoothly. I'm thrilled! I used the recommended XK4074 motor initally but it was hopeless and blew on climb-out despite having a full heat-sink.This unit will not fit a 40mm motor, and I don't see how you could make the motor housing larger without wreaking the unit, they should state that these will not work with a 40mm diameter motor.Received my 12 Blade Chang sung fan today great looking fan unit the only thing that i dident receive was the 8mm rotor shaft that is described in HKs listing text and know i am weighting for customer support to SE what they do to resolve this misleading information about the edf unit also dident receive any grub screws with the 5mm rotor shaft that i got with the edf.so i give it a 2 stars because of the false information that they have put in the text.................Description: two rotor adapters are included, one for 5mm motor shafts and one for 8mm shafts.
hk delivery of today without 8 mm adapterEdf very nice both of material and of his ability, I make a very nice voice jetsGreat sound extra amps vs 5 bladed but great to fly with and makes peoples heads turn when they hear it come and go!!!
