Discus Launch Gliding (DLG) is a fantastic way to fly gliders and it's certainly growing in popularity. Very unique in design, DLG models can also be very expensive but you dont have to break the bank with our Cumulus 1500. At a fraction of the cost of a composite model, our Cumulus 1500 not only looks great, it flies great too.
The large wing area is perfect for gliding, while its construction offers the perfect combination of weight saving and strength required for a DLG model.
Made from lightweight balsa/ply and pre-covered in quality film, the finish of the Cumulus 1500 is excellent. It is fitted with pre-mounted servos for aileron, rudder and elevator controls and just requires your own receiver and battery. The fuselage has ample room for your receiver and battery which is easily accessible through the canopy hatch.
This model goes together quickly and easily and is a great choice as your first DLG model!
• Easy to assemble
• Balsa/ply wing and stabilizers
• Pre-installed servos
• Lightweight design
Flying weight: 290g
Dry weight= 296 grams; needs 22 grams of nose weight to reach the recommended 85mm CG; I added a 600mah 1s battery (no booster) to reach 87mm CG and an AUW of 312.2 gramsGoes together easily. Quality great for the price! Not flown it yet but a big thumbs up from The RC Model Geeks :o)This airplane is made very elaborately. But there is a part where a joint is only a little rough.
When a weight was added to the body part, it starts often to fly.
The flight which can be met depends on your adjustment and would be built.
