One of HobbyKings all time best selling models, the Deluxe 182, is now availble in an ARF version allowing you to install your own selection of motor, ESC and servos.

The 182 is made from dense and extremely smooth foam. Unlike typical GWS type foamies, this kits foam is smooth enough to appear gloss-like.

With the addition of working flaps (Deluxe Version) the 182 makes a perfect introductory model to training on the extra control surface. The rudder is also linked to the steerable nose wheel, making taxing fun!

This is a high quality plane with excellent flying characteristics. You will not be disappointed!

I deliberately bought this ARF option rather than the PNF version, so that I might have more control over the finished quality - particularly after reading the variable reviews regarding build quality. Adding my own personal experience to that of others, suggest that what you receive is a bit hit & miss - depending either on the production batch or even the particular assembly worker - which suggests poor QA management ......

...... This is a potentially nice model, of its type, but the one I received was badly let-down by a frustratingly unnecessary level of assembly carried-out to an appallingly low standard..... Why does this ARF, unlike many others, have to be supplied the ailerons & flaps pre-installed ??? - particularly if the hinges might, as with my one, going to be cut into the foam & poorly glued all cock-eyed, out of line, with a lack of precision & attention to detail more in keeping with disembowelling a production-line turkey.
.... After spending several hours disassembling, gleaning-up glue residue, re-cutting hinge slots, re-shaping edges & refitting the flaps & ailerons, I now have a passable wing in twice the time it would have taken me to assemble it from scratch, myself, in the first place!!!

.... The same also applies to the decals - why apply these at the factory, unless this guarantees a better job than could be achieved by your nine year old gr

not bad at all for the price but you'll need to have some knowledge to be able to build it.

still you cant beat the price if you already have the electronics for it.
I used 2022 1000kv motors with 1000 3s 30c lipo. total weight was around 750 grams.
good if you have little wind and not too big space to fly. flaps works good on this model

buy it if you have some electronics to spare and teach that friend how to fly on it. makes a good starting plane for him/her

Excellent plane to begin with. Worth the price, easy to set up, repair, and very stable.

Bought one a few months back and fitted with a 1350kv motor, 30a esc and fly with a 1300mah battery. Flies extremely well but make sure you turn the throws down as it is quite twitchy but after you do that it is extremely stable. Flaps cause quite a balloon and will require you to retrim quite a bit. Undercarriage is quite flimsy, vibrates a fair amount on grass and often dislodges itself so upgrading would be recommended. Nose wheel is also a bit of a pain having vibrating itself loose and dropping out on a few occasions. Overall a good flier but the wheels are quite troublesome.

The build was not easy, it comes with limited hardware. The Elevators have very poor travel and you have to cut through the rear of the plane to fit it and then fill in the cut with hot glue. The battery tray comes with a screw which makes it very impractical changing batteries in the field. The nose wheel had very poor connectors for the servo horn and this comes off when trying to take off. It requires short 5g servos and the extra reach from the normal 5-10g servos does not allow a good fit. The space in the trays is limited and your options for fitting the ESC are also limited. Overall a crap plane, it flew a grand total of 5 seconds and the hardware provided failed. Well done HK for selling me crap yet again. This is the 4th plane I have bought and every single one of them has been anal to build. My suggestion don't touch it!!

Awesome aircraft and extremely forgiving. Kit arrived safely with no damage at all. Assembly was simple and quick. Pay attention to the flap hinges and ensure that they are level. I removed mine and refitted as during it's maiden flight i had right hand roll that we traced back to the uneven flaps. Purchase a hatch latch as it makes changing packs a lot easier.

It looks very nice but is not recommended for beginners. Too small making it very nervous. Would you recommend a model bigger. The installation is not very complicated but you have to pay a little attention. Relatively resistant shock and can place a battery of 2200 making a few modifications. My setup configuration:

Motor: D-2826 1400

Battery: 2200 3s 20c

speed controler: Hobbyking SS Series 25-30A ESC

Propeller: 8x4

servos: 9 g

Not a bad airframe at all for the price,I'm using a eflite park 370 brushless motor a
40a esc "slight overkill for this model but that's what I had at the time"hkscm9 servos orange rx and 1300 nanotech lipos
I put a 4mm cf rod in the wing because I did like the flex that it had altho they do have struts...it was easy anuff as there is a space ready for a cf brace!!
Iv not flown it yet but will leave a flight review after the first maden.
