It's my first pfv set so i cannot really compare, but it looks quite good to me.
As mentioned before the camera polarity was wrong, this is however easy to check and to change without soldering. To state the obvious; red should be . You can just pull off the white connector on the camera and put it on rotated.
Video quality is good enough for fpv, don't expect miracles though, colors look pretty dull.

antennas are bad, CCD cam is awful and TX is not that good. you get what you pay for. if you are going to FPV buy some quality equipment dont waste your money on system like this but if you just want to see what is FPV etc. it is suitable and cheap.

to be honest you get what you pay for. i bought this system way back 2011 i guess but recently have chance to test it efficiently... the camera is total crap. when it see sun directly your video goes out. same thing goes for cloudy and grayish days. you get alot of deterioration on video. i do not know maybe my camera have this issues. you definetly need to get vee dipole something because stock rubber ducky omnidirectional antenna this set has is crap. but it is 50 bucks so it can totaly buyable product.

Know what I like about this thing? It's kind of a do-it-yourself where you get to learn about soldering and how circuitry. Know what I DON'T like about this? The fact it's a do-it-yourself where you have to learn about circuitry and soldering. Let me explain. So pretty much everything in the receiver needed to be re-soldered. There was actual RUST inside the box. I thought it was flux at first but no, rust. After re-soldering the power plug on the receiver and got it to power on, I guess SOME of the camera harnesses were wired wrong and, of course, mine being one of them. I haven't been able to test to see if it was fried yet but we'll see. I might up my rating if it still works. I have 2 open tickets with HK in which they haven't responded so I'm not going to bother trying to return it. Just a big, frustrating mess.

i am very unsatisfied with the range of the system(200-300meter) and also it is very bad that the customer must resold the pins on the camara conector

2nd purchase of this item, 1st worked flawlessly, but in a low light situation, a reversed polarity mistake happened, these products, really should have some kind of protection against that.

Awesome works lovely, just got to mount it on motorglider for FPV, just one note take care to remove the white connector on the camera board, this pulls off flip it round as the connectors are set up incorrect, check the circuit board text.

I just received this from hobbyking, listen :

1- It's not working in the beginning, the screen was just black and the camera very hot, I searched the discution page here and ended with changing the wires, it's still chiped with the wrong wiring (we are 15/07/2013). Once wires changed on the camera, it's working.
2- camera is very good indoor, good low light peformance and good colors, but once on the outdoor, it's another story, colors are wrong and the image blurry, don't know why, it's pretty pefect on indoor.
3- don't plane to use stock antennas for fpv, 1 antenna is about 44g, you will need to make your own antenna.

final word : I'm happy with this purchase, for the price it's a good product, just be sur to correct the camera wires and make an antenna for vtx. :)

I waited two weeks came urun. But alramadm. Because the products do not have the manual in the box, do not have a power cord for receiver beselemek, reciver I have never found a screen (loptop or TV) cable or connector is suitable to put in yet. Unfortunately, the system is not good. Could not use yet. I can not say anything to perfonmans

Well, this product is almost always out of stock, so had to wait for nearly 2 weeks before it was even shipped!

However, when it arrived, I was disappointed to see that the connecting pins are reversed, despite it being clearly mentioned in the listing that the pins are matched and that we won't have any problems connecting anything!

However, I found a way to overcome this problem, by taking off the female part of the JXT connector, so that only the pins are left behind. In that way, I could connect the male connector in the correct manner.

I was again disappointed, when the video finally came up on the screen..... the video output was completely black and white, indicating a loose connection on the camera board!

So, obviously I contacted the customer care for help! They first asked me to make a video showing the problem and send it to them. After I did that, they apologized for the fault and asked me to return the whole thing- the faulty camera and also the correctly functioning transmitter and the receiver!

Now, if the people at hobbyking decide that the faults with my camera are not covered under warranty, I'll not only loose the money for sending it back to them, I'll also loose the correctly functioning transmitter and receiver!

So, I finally ended up buying another camera from hobbyking for $16!

Well, this is my experience with this product/hobbyking.........
