HobbyKing 3D Printer Filament 1.75mm ABS 1KG Spool (White)

HobbyKing have come out with a huge new range of 3D Printer Filaments at prices that will have you printing all day and all night.

The range covers PLA, ABS, Flexible, Color Changing, Luminous, Nylon, Polycarbonate, Acetal (POM), Metal Composite and even a water soluble filament for printing molds. So there is a filament for every project you have in mind. HobbyKing filaments have a stable melting point, good round shape and most importantly a 0.05mm uniform diameter tolerance for a consistent flow rate.

ABS:

ABS is a fantastic plastic for mechanical real world use prints where a durable item is required. It has some give under stress making it perfect for multirotor frames and gears. ABS also has a higher melting point making it more suitable for some applications.

For printing with ABS it is recommended to have a heated print bed or Kapton Tape for proper bed adhesion. ABS can also have a slight odor when printing so a well ventilated room is recommended, please note that it has no odor when the print is finished.

ABS is slightly harder to get dialed in unlike PLA, but once set up the printing is consistent and the prints are truly real world useable. Other popular uses for this material are R/C spare parts, building blocks and toys for the kids.

3D printing is a fun and exciting hobby with a wide range of uses from prototyping parts to making toys for the kids. Picking the right filament for your application is very important.

• Stable melting point

Very good

Difficult to find the right setting for this filament but there is enough there for many tests, and it's cheap too.

Yup it prints on a X5S

Works great but needs 245-250C for good layer bonding. I print with a bed temperature of 35C, crazy cool right? on vinyl sign tape and it sticks like crazy once you get the first layer close enough to stick.

Pretty darn good

Prints like a charm on Anycubic i3 Mega. Extruder 255C, bed 110C, simple enclosure and I can hardly see any warping. Seen some cheap PLA warping more than this stuff, actually. And doesn't smell as bad as ABS i printed years back. Great stuff, really.

Great for the price

So inexpensive using a Prusa P3 steel clone with a bunch of tweaks. I run this hot around 250-260 with 10% fan(after first layer or two), that works well for me to balance quality and strength. If strength isn't important then dropping the temp down will give better surface finish to the parts.
Overall though good stuff, ordering 5 more spools right now.

Good for this price

I printed this with my Anet A8 printer and with Mk8 extruder. First time i think its trapped a lot of moisture, while is it popping. After some print i figured out that is not moisture, while the gap happening on the same side (other sides are ok). I turned off the retraction and all gap dissapeared.
I printed it at 235°C and 90°C heatbed temp.
The other solution to eliminate the gap maybe go lower temp with the hotend and i can use the retraction for less stringing.
Isn't warping if you use hairspray on glass sheet. Its holding very strong the part on the heatbed, but after cooling down you just need to take the part without force.

Good filament

Feb 05, 2018

Printed at 250°C and bed heated at 110°C and got nice prints, without too much warping.
Printed about 500g so far without clogging.
Good for everyday prints, but not enough for really precise prints.
