The Aerostar range of brushless speed controllers is designed for fixed-wing aircraft. They feature super smooth start-up, linear throttle response, and multiple protection features, all at a fantastic price.

Although primarily designed for fixed-wing aircraft, they also include a soft start and heli mode, making them a good low-cost alternative ESC for your next helicopter project.

Installation is very straightforward as these speed controllers come "plug & play", with no soldering required, they are pre-fitted with an XT60 connector and 3 x 3.5mm gold connectors.

Programming can be done either using the transmitter and listening to the tones or you can use the dedicated programming card (see "Related Items").

Features:
• Pre-installed motor and battery connections
• Propeller Brake
• Battery type (NiMH or lipo)

Aerostar 60

The ESC looks well made. But it has Absolute rubbish firmware. The ESC is very rough on startup....even on soft start. Its lack of PWM output dither makes the motor run as rough as an out of balance propeller in the mid range revs. Its braking is very harsh too.
It really needs to be flashed with much better firmware.
I can not recommend this speed controller as is.

I REALLY like this! My previous favourite 60amp ESC was the Turnigy Plush (never a problem with them BTW) but I bought this for an EPP Yak 55 3D as it is around two thirds the weight and for the higher BEC output, 5.5v/5A. Faultless performance so far. Get the programme card too, dirt cheap and makes the job so easy. Peter

It seems I'm not the only one to like them as, at the time of writing, they are out of stock everywhere ;-). Fill out a stock arrival alert and get one when you can, you wont regret it.
