Full Metal Servoless Retract for large models (10~12kg). Features all metal construction for precision, reliability and durability. This makes for an excellent, reliable alternative to air & mechanical operated retract systems on larger models!
Operating Voltage: 4.5~7.4V
Mount Plate Dimensions: 52mm x 43mm
Screw Hole Spacing: 43mm x 31mm
Pin: 10mm (axle not included)
Max model weight: 10~12kg
Very robust, solid design, seem to work well.
The good: really heavy duty cast and machined aluminum, smooth operation
The bad: one of the two I received came with the 10mm hole for the strut pin UNMACHINED. it was as-cast, about 8mm. No problem for me since I have a drill press and some big metric bits, but sloppy quality control to let it get sent out that way. Also, the setscrew holes to secure the strut pins will only work if you have very long pins, and there should be more than one to hold such a big strut. I drilled and tapped several more to get an acceptable grip. A split trunion with a clamp screw like they have on the outward retracting set is a WAY better design. Make that change and remember to actually finish machine them and they would be perfect.
Overall a great value.- A T T E N T I O N -
HK Int. advertises discounts and free shipping, and sets in the package, the non-discounted bill!
I had to pay the duty on the whole non-discounted bill and HK has been found not responsible !!
My request was simply ignored.
Thus I had no discount !!
This is extreme fraudI have a pair in my 80 inch p51 and they have done over 200 flights and no probs so far. I have fitted a separate battery for them as they can draw two amps before the jambing protection kicks in. I have just purchased another pair for a Spitfire.Received my units a few days ago. They seem well constructed and are smooth in operation. I got these units for my ESM 30cc P51b Mustang, they drop right in but you do have to build up the mounts as these retracts are quite deep. My retract unit now sits flush with the wing bottom and there is 2mm clearence between the bottom of the retract and the top skin of the wing. Time will tell on their reliabilty although a friend has been using these units with no problems.I have had 50 flights with these in a Kyosho 90 size P51 and they work really well. I do use them on a separate battery just in case they jam as it seems there is no anti jam fitted. Only minor complaint is the mounting plate is a bit flimsy, however I made some stronger ones.
Nice job HKThe only thing wrong is you cant access the grub screws to align your U/C strut after you install the unit. You have to drill out the plate so you can get to the grub screws.
HK you need to move the 2 grub screws up about 3mm so you can adjust without dissassembly!Chucked these in my size 80 P51 and after 10 flights they work a treat. Had a heavy landing and they did not falter. I fitted a separate battery for the retracts, the only problem is the pc board can be subject to moisture and dirt.Received three of these for my ESM Pilatus. I'm going to use these to replace the stock pneumatic retracts. The mount plates are identical in size, though the screw holes are spaces slightly wider. Very impressed with the construction on these - solid aluminum cases, all-metal gear trains, cast aluminum trunnion block. 10mm struts or pins fit standard. The mount hole is 23.5mm deep, and steps down to 9mm i.d. at the bottom. Struts are retained by 3 2mm grub screws at 90, 180 and 270 degrees respectively. First and last screws are near the top of the block, one near the bottom. Servo leads are just about 37cm long. The only thing I don't like so far are the exposed circuit boards - if any moisture gets into the retract body they're done for. I'm going to spray the boards with some Corrosion-X before I put them back together.
Also - none of the screws on these were loctited. If you buy these I strongly recommend that you pull every screw and loctite them in place.Just received 3 itens of this eletric retracts. great product , very strong os construction and on function , 6 seconds to complete the movement , will fit perfectly on my ESM PC-21 Pilatus , jut need to open the hole for strut from 10 to 11 milimeters... I will buy more of them . Good alternative to 50cc models ... I love them !Excellent quality. No slop at all. Im impressed they are rock solid and they do have overcurrent protection. U need to jam them with a screwdriver though. The torque is huge and you won't be able to stop them by hand. These will go in my turbine jet. Highly recommended to use extra battery for them. A 600mah life would be enough and the signal cable to the rx. Because when they jam they hqve an instant 2amp draw until the overcurrent protection kicks in
