Very nicely machined upgrade for the Trex 550. Very light, as it is cut away underneath. Would have been better if it was a little taller, so it was flush with the top of the frame, and left more room for the servo lead rubber protector.

Quality of this plate is very good. It would aid in stiffing the frame and making life easy to not having to remove gyro from tape every time you take the boom box out. Also with this installed above boom box you have your gyro hidden away in a crash. I also installed one to replace the CF plate for the rx (under tail servo).



This part I got was from OMGheli. I found that I had to file my slots longer on the frame as the mounting holes on the plate are a little too close together.

Fits perfecrtly in front of the rotor mast, there is enough room for the servo wires and it looks cool. I have used it as a frame stiffner as I keep the Gyro to the rear of the rotor mast. The now no longer used brace it replaced I moved to the holes below the main drive gears to give extra stiffness there.

Good quality and value, have not fitted it as yet but should not be a problem, should give the frame extra stiffness which is not a bat thing with the 550e.

Received mine today - it actually does have that mark (scratch) on it as it's probably the path the cnc machine took and goes a little deeper/higher there.. it's very slight but shows up a lot in the photo..



You can barely feel it by finger so once gyro tape is down it will make no difference.. a pity seeing it's the only negative i can put on it for the price..



Seeing the servo wires point up on the 550 - there is little room between the servo and the mount so you need to bend the wires a lot - getting a strap under for the gyro would be hard..



I'm using it as a frame stiffner as the 550 frame is weak near the front 2 servos so this mount works well for me... and quite cheap compared to other brands..
