Want a plane that can take on anything? Born from the same stable as our best-selling SkyMule, the AVIOS Bush Mule is the sturdy workhorse of the sky. Taking rough terrain, water and snow in it's stride, this Plug and Fly model plane uses twin-powered motors to soar through the skies.

Touch down with precision by using the 90° barn door flaps to slow the plane's descent while landing. The AVIOS Bush Mule is fitted with broad wheels, similar to our popular Tundra models, to ensure a smooth landing even on rough terrain. Perfect for short take off and landings, this RC plane was designed for all conditions and all terrain.

Use the in-built cargo door in the tail to drop candy or launch a parachute during flight. You can also purchase floats to land your AVIOS Bush Mule in your local pond, pool or river. Packed with amazing features, the AVIOS Bush Mule is our most verstaile plane to date.

Versatile and Fun to Fly

Oct 28, 2020

I got the Bush Mule as my first twin engine plane while it was on special for $330 as it looked versatile and I have not been disappointed in it overall performance. Its STOL capabilities are great and it is fun to just take off and land. Dialing in some differential thrust makes it easy to turn on the ground on uneven surfaces and makes it do a wicked stall turn but otherwise makes me nervous when airbourne. It is not fast but is very powerful having great acceleration and vertical climb. Other reviews have dissed the landing gear but I have done a fair percentage uneven thumps onto the deck and have not had any problem with the nose gear though I have had to bend the mains back into shape so that the wing is level on the ground (it was down on the left side and needed straightening before first flight). The tyres are very rigid and rip up on my club’s rough tarmac but they are light and after supergluing push bike inner tube over the wheels of rather like them. Now the servos! I read other reviews saying the elevator servo stripped on first landing and after flying 15 times thought their landings must be pretty harsh. But then I was doing some checking of surface endpoints on the ground and noticed my right aileron was not coming up as far as left (they are on a y lead) and as I moved stick left and right it stripped a gear right there on the bench so I will be replacing the ailerons, elevator and rudder with metal gear servos before it flies again (I might leave the flaps). So it loses a star for quality which is a shame because in all other areas it is very good. Oh and as the manual says, balance the props. I thought I had a bent motor shaft and still cannot believe how much the strategic adding of about 3cm2 of fibre tape to prop tips has made. I have no regrets about getting it but am very glad the servo stripped on the bench and not in flight.

only gave 4 for quality as the wheels are flimsy as the centre hubs are thin plastic and the tyres come off easily

Two flights two crashes, intermittent esc problem caused spiral crash. Plane broken on first flight wreaked on second flight. Not happy.

The plane checked out on the ground but mid flight it just spiralled in. Broken wing and prop. No props in stock! Weeks of delay. Second flight same thing. On recovery one motor stuttering one motor smooth. Second crash destroyed fuse and wing and props. Not happy given price.

Great flier.

My first twin engine, but my third Durafly model and it is a cracker all round ! Well made and easy and fun to assemble and fly, but the flight is only part of the RC hobby experience. Well supported by Hobbyking with parts and accessories, and with a bit of imagination and a coat of military camo, you have the aussie Nomad,

Awesome

Awesome plane, fitted with all the modifications I did to the original sky mule. Went together easily although the configuration for receiver plugs for the reverse throttle are not explained. Flew great as did it’s predesesor. I would only change the tyres, everything else is fantastic.
