Pilot your very own C-130 with this exquisite scale aircraft. Completed with the highest level of scale detail, this AVIOS aircraft is the best replica on the market. With a 1600mm wingspan and measuring over a metre in length, the AVIOS C-130 features fully sequenced landing gear, working cargo door, navigation lights and scale props.

Beloved worldwide, the American four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft is capable of using unprepared runways for takeoffs and landings. The C-130 was assigned as a troop, medevac and cargo transport aircraft. The versatile airframe has found uses in a variety of other roles, including as a gunship (AC-130), search and rescue, scientific research support, weather reconnaissance, aerial refuelling, maritime patrol, and aerial firefighting. It is now the main tactical airlifter for many military forces worldwide.

The historic aircraft features pre-installed electronics, removable wings and bolt-together pieces. Coming in two colour schemes, the C-130 is available in the Blue Angels US Navy aerobatics scheme (Fat Albert) or Military Gray. The Blue Angels use a United States Marine Corps C-130T Hercules, nicknamed "Fat Albert", for their logistics, carrying spare parts, equipment, and to carry support personnel between shows. "Fat Albert Airlines" flies with an all-Marine crew of three officers and five enlisted personnel.

The AVIOS C-130 has a cargo door which can be operated by an aux channel on your computer radio. Fantastic for any candy drop events at the flying field. A cabin light has also been added and it can be switched on/off automatically when the door is opened or closed.

AVIOS presents the only true scale representation of the mighty C-130.

Good plane with some minor flaws

Jul 19, 2019

I have a Version 1 Blue Angels C-130. So far I have only had 7 flights and I have not broken any props during taxiing or landing or taking off!
With my C-130 I honed out the props with a small rounded grinding wheel attached to my Dremmel! Only because of reading that people had had props blow apart when flying!
The only major problem that I had Is the nose gear wire is too soft and bends easily even with good landings on grass! What I now have done is replace the landing shaft wire that goes through the electric nose gear retract unit with a stiffer wire unit from and old durafly vampire nose gear unit! This has stopped the bending but I still geat the nose gear slipping on the wire shaft even with the grub screws tightened up hard against the nose gear wire!
Anyway still happy with the plane but have only come back from flying once with out having to do and minor work to the plane!

Perfect Plane, but problems in quality

Jun 01, 2019

A very very nice Plane. Awesome Details. Great Paintjob on the Blue Angels Livery.
Flys great.... But:
Lost the Plane in the 3rd Flight. The outer right engine mount has become detached. The plane wasn't controlable with 3 engines. Did not manage to sail back to the airfield and was on the ground outside....
The important spareparts are not available.
Check your engine mounts!

Avios C-130

Apr 09, 2019

I had the privilege of pre-ordering the C-130 in November and did so. I am the president of a 150 member RC club in Central Florida and displayed the C-130 at our Christmas party. It was a big hit with all the members and they couldn't wait to see it in the air. The first flight was a disaster. Prior to the flight all ground checks, radio checks, servos and control services were checked and were working properly. Take off was beautiful turning to downwind was beautiful with only a slight trim on the elevator needed. Going straight down wind with constant speed with no throttle changes and no inputs from the transmitter the plane rolled the left and spiraled to the ground and crashed. I sent a video of the flight to hobby King for their review and was told they couldn't do anything unless I could prove definitively that a part failed. Since then I have seen many other reports of aircraft doing the same thing, with either prop failure, ESC or engine failure. Hobby King did send me new propellers because the original ones were found to be defective however my aircraft is destroyed and I have nothing to put them on. Upon investigating the crash I could not find any ESC, motor or servo that was defective. All four props were destroyed on impact so I can only assume that a propeller on the left side of the airplane was the culprit. Because this airplane was supposed to be released 1 January and it is now into April and it still not released I can only assume there are other problems that have not been resolved. I invested $350 for a 20 second flight with all new equipment. Because I received new propellers I feel that hobby King is acknowledging that they sold a defective product and it should be replaced, but I was only given credit for a small a portion of the cost and 4 New propellers. It was a beautiful aircraft and flew perfect for 20 seconds.

Dissapointing start

Apr 03, 2019

On the fourth flight it spun in, the reason being a broken prop. I started to repair the fuselage. Hobbyking were good enough to supply a new one. thank you. now that I have the upgraded props I've had six uneventfull flights, lets hope this continues. My club mates and I really like this aircraft looking great on the ground and in the air

More testing on production models needed

Apr 01, 2019

First 4 flights were great. 5th flight on takeoff it turned sharp left and crashed and broke fuse in half. Epoxied back together and replaced all 4 props. 6th flight great then 7th did exactly same as 5th--sharp left and crashed again, same fix. 8th the same. one of the left engines was burning out. Mine was a pre-release and I suspect because of the other engine failures reported there is a BIG problem with the ESCs or the engines and of course this will never be admitted because they dont want to replace all our planes after they fix the problems like on the props failing

A beautiful looking plane, electronics are a bit suspect

Feb 24, 2019

On maiden flight 2 esc's shut down and 1 caught on fire, melting the cowling. Have submitted a claim with Hobbyking. Hopefully they do the right thing and sort this out for me, before these issues the plane was flying beautifully and looked good in the air.

Great little airplane

Feb 18, 2019

All parts fit well together, very easy to assemble. the extended ramp in the back Baffle me how to attach. if done as in the manual page 19 you can't close the cargo bay door! the paint is well done (Fat Albert) but need a finish water based lack to seal the surface prevent dirt from fasten on the surface.
motors is more than sufficient to get it in the air and keep it there. in a simulator it was very heavy and difficult to handle. be aware of stall! it's not a glider, so slow speed should be done with caution. Certainly fun to fly.
the sound from the propellers is very realistic and ad to the whole experience of flying the little great machine.
the service/battery door should have been on top, as it's difficult and maybe dangerous to change battery as the propellers are more than close to your hands artery.
the servo arms for the outer flaps was not set even from factory, that and the impossible ramp mount for the cargo bay make it lose 1 star for quality.

Overall average product.

Jan 23, 2019

Had the previllages to purchase this model before anyone else, thks HK. Coming into the fourth flight there was this kinda strong cross wing, it had a bit struggle to keep it straight, landing no issue with cross wind as u need slight power to stop the wing sheer. Upon safely landed, one of the motor was moving abnormally, then smoke came out. So there goes one of the motors, with our any replacement yet from HK, my blue angels is grounded.
