The Hawker Sea Fury was the last propeller-driven fighter to serve with the Royal Navy and also one of the fastest, production single piston-engine aircraft ever built. Developed during the Second World War, the Sea Fury entered service two years after the war ended and proved to be a popular aircraft with a number of overseas militaries, also seeing service during the Korean War in the early 1950s.

The Sea Fury has many design similarities to Hawker's earlier Tempest fighter, though considerably lighter. Sea Furies were fitted with the powerful Bristol Centaurus engine, and armed with four wing-mounted Hispano V cannons. While originally developed as a pure aerial fighter aircraft, the Sea Fury FB 11 developed into a fighter-bomber, and was quite suitable for the task.

The Sea Fury was used by the British until the mid 1950s as well as many other nations until the late 1950s. Since that time many airframes have survived through the efforts of private owners and have enjoyed a long post military career at air shows, with heavily modified versions participating in the annual Reno Air Races in the Unlimited Class.

Avios brings you an exemplary example of the legendary Hawker Sea Fury in the form of a brilliant no-glue design which arrives with all electronics pre-installed, just needing a battery and radio system to complete. The Avios Sea Fury is the FB11 version modeled in the livery of Commander Peter "Hoagy" Carmichael, the only British pilot in a piston engine aircraft to down a jet driven airplane during the Korean War.

The all EPO molded foam replica features functional split flaps, retracts with gear doors and sequencer, LED lights, scale 5-blade propeller, wing mounted rockets, and remotely activated drop tanks. Included in the box is a 5-blade spinner, for the utmost in scale realism as well as the 4-blade version which allows you to run standard sport propellers for optimal performance.

The Avios brand is focused on premium quality design features, with no detail being spared. The Avios 1200mm Hawker Sea Fury is no exception.

This aircraft is basically a very good offer that includes free shipping in Europe. It is from what I understand very scala alike. But the plane is way too heavy for the the gear tracks. The base is simply too poorly constructed and especially if you land on a dirt road. The smallest obstacle for example, a small stone and the geartracks is destroyed. The only field this aircraft are suitable for is asphalt or concrete field.

I bought the sea fury when it was on sale, and the build and set up , I really liked. Very few pieces to put together and after I finished it really looked terrific. I had 1st maiden and it pulled left very hard due to engine. It feels really heavy by weight but after getting it trimmed it flew really good. I does not have the speed, but flies scale. Landing with flaps really slowed the plane down to a comfortable landing.
Hope this helps

I bought this for $130 including post, which is outrageously cheap. Assembly is easy and requires no glue. The tail section on mine has a bit of a twist in it but nothing major. The supplied spinners are crappy to. Everything else is quite impressive. I settled on the 4 blade spinner with only 2 blades fitted and a 6s 2700mah battery. All stock electronics running at 1300W. The ESC gets hot but copes with the abuse. It seems very heavy (2.2kgs AUW) but flies great. Unlimited vertical on 6s. The flaps slow it down nicely for landing but even with a near perfect touchdown, The retracts pulled out of the wings. Theres basically no glue in there. If you can get one as cheap as I did, its a really nice plane.

Maiden Today. beware of CG - it's 85 instead of 90mm. She flies like a dream. I felt unsafe about the heavy weight. But with the landing gear problem sorted it is just amazing - very good quality parts, just bad factory fitted.
Re-glue retracts and flaps and you will have one of a kind ! And the best thing; I bought two on cyber sale :-)

Nicely detailed and packed and presented with box art and the whole nine yards but why so heavy and why the small wheels- I will change the wheels but just wish they did it at design stage as changing involves moving the gear door servos and changing the legs all of which could easily be done at initial design stage a lot easier than now - I will also angle the units to get the wheels further forward to help stop nose overs but am left wondering why they always do this - a lot of us fly off grass so big wheels and forward rake are very important

From what I can tell, this is not only a magnificent looking/flying aircraft, but with all the bling (5-blade prop/spinner, sequential gear doors, split flaps and dual/magnetic bomb drop) an absolute steal at $90 from a USA warehouse!!!!

I presently have 12 model aircraft and this is my first model purchased from Hobbyking, and definitely my last. The plane is nice enough to look at, but not much more. The build quality is very poor, the electrical components are mediocre to say the least, and this is without doubt by far the biggest heap of rubbish I have owned to date. Like most others have found, the landing gear falls out just by almost looking at it. The gear only operates as and when, and it appears quite unusual to actually have both wheels operating correctly at the same time. Have already replaced two burnt out servos, and this is not very encouraging considering it has had one 5 minute flight to date. Wish I had never bought it.

Bought mine during sale. Bargain at $185 to my doorstep. Very well made model. All parts fitted perfectly with the exception of the spinner for the 5 bladed set up. Spinner shaft was bent so it would not line up. Issue is resolved with HK sending me a replacement Spinner. Thanks HK. The plane flies very nicely with no issues. By the way, when assembling the flaps control rods, attached one to the outer most hole and the other to the next hole. The distance apart hardly makes a difference to the flap movement. It is critical to check if both the retracts have been properly glued to the wing. I found one side was loose during assembly and noticed there was hardly any glue applied to the anchor points. The other side felt solid but unfortunately let go after I greased in my last landing. The bolts on the drop tanks also came loose after a few flights but is easily fixed. Would have given 5 stars all round if it wasn't for the retracts not being glued properly at the factory. It is an awesome model.
