The Tundra has had a massive cult following over the years within the RC community as it's easily one of the best flying electric RC planes on the market with an impressive flight envelope. This was followed sometime later with the launch of the Grand Tundra which encompassed all your favorite features but on a larger scale. The Grand Tundra Plus keeps 99% of the features of the original version, the one change that has been made is to the wing servo connectors, these have a new design to give a stronger and more reliable connection.

With the Grand Tundra Plus, you can still enjoy short take-offs and landings with the huge 90-degree flaps, wing vortex generators, large tundra wheels, optional floats, navigation lights, and much more. The Grand Tundra Plus happily flies on a 4S LiPo battery, but on 6S you'll realize there is another side to the Grand Tundra Plus. If you have never tried skis or floats, then this RC floatplane is for you, as there is nothing quite like landing or taking off on the water.

Please note: The Floats and Skis are optional extras, please see related products.

The Grand Tundra Plus is an impressive foam RC aircraft with a huge presence in the air. The slight dihedral and wide flight envelope make for a very forgiving aircraft that could even be used as a trainer RC plane. From slow flight to fast aerobatics, this PNF model does it all with such finesse. Features include metal gear servos, ball-linked control rods, glider tow point, and navigational lights.

Adventure and great flying await with the Avios Grand Tundra Plus.

Flies just like it's baby brother.

However, the ESC was bad, kept cutting out. Also both flap servos were bad had had to replace. Loved the landing gear!

First impression was very good ... but the controller didn't work. Hobbyking sent a new one from China ... 2 weeks delay.
There is another point I dont't understand:
Why is there a 80 A controller ... but only a 60 A motor??? Already my 5s battery generated with the

Nice plane but incomplete instructions. Also, there needs to be a wiring schematic in the instructions. Average at best overall.

It is a big foamie for sure!

Simple to put together and I like to Cub style landing gear.
However, you have to slide the battery way back into the fuselage to get it to balance at 78-80 mm from the leading edge.
The front velcro strap does not reach the battery if you move it far enough aft to get a correct cg, the back strap barely covers the battery.
I even put 1.5 oz lead under the rudder, didn't help much.
Also one flap servo had a different travel range then the other flap servo, will have to replace.
I put the landing light lead in parallel with the flaps so they come on when the flaps go down.

Excellent plane

Mar 18, 2021

I own the tundra for about 10 months now, it's an excellent plane for beginners and more advanced pilots. It's very good in 3D flying too. I only had one problem, I'm flying 3D with a 6S battery and the ESC is getting extremely warm every time, with the result that a wire has come loose. It was fixable. But it's a great plane overall. It's very easy to fly and handle in the air, even with extreme wind conditions. I can fly around 10 minutes with a 4500 6S battery when I fly calmly. I can recommend the tundra for everyone!

Excellent quality, no issues with assembly and flies very well.

I found the quality of the foam and overall structure to be as good as my Flex Cessna 170.
Not that happy with the rubber bands on the u/carriage, will improve this myself. No issue with performance on 4S. Highly recommended.

Bad Luck

Nov 26, 2020

Overall only bad luck with this model. During the maiden flight the ECS quit his job...enginge stopped and the rudders were frozen. Plane came down rough and is broken.
HK hide behind warranty rules and dont offer any replacement. Poor customer service

Das absolute Spassflugzeug

Sep 01, 2020

Perfect STOL plane, very nice gear

Aug 24, 2020

Just a perfect stol plane, its so much fun take off, and especially landings with that tires and gear. I glued slats on the wings to improve stol performance, never had such a great plane. @ Manuel: I had same issue. I flew a dozen times with 4s and no heat problems and then I tryed 6s (with the smaller prop) after 2min normal flight the motor stopped. ESC and motor were burned and damaged. HK send a replacement motor and ESC :) So I will stick with 4s, but thats enough power for that plane, tough ;)

In which channels do you have to connect the cables from the LEDs to the receiver so that they work on off, on and flashing?
Can you send me a photo or an outline?
