Basher RockSta 1/24 4WS Mini Rock Crawler is all the crawler you need if you want to tackle the wild expanses of your living room or the backyard rockery and it will attack these challenges with all the specialist abilities of a 1/10  or 1/8 crawler, just on a much smaller scale. This crawler is perfect for those days when the weather won't let you outside or your crawling space is limited because you can set up a cool obstacle course with a few household objects that will keep you challenged for hours.

The RockSta can handle tough mini trails because it's packed with features like a low centre of gravity, four wheel steering, motor on axle both front and rear, fixed diffs and solid axle suspension just like the big boys.

This kit version of the RockSta is for those among us who love to tinker and make their own versions with their choice of electronics. This will require a fair amount of RC knowledge and skill but we know there are plenty of hobbyists out there with the right stuff who will use this chassis to make some truly inspiring rigs. You may need to modify the chassis to accept different ESCs and receivers, but the results will be worth it. This little chassis makes for a great crawler but maybe you want more power, more speed, lower COG, lower weight, two wheel steering (both steering arms can be locked with a screw) or you could go the whole hog and convert this little beast into a micro rock racer. It's up to you.

With these great features and its tough construction the RockSta Mini Rock Crawler is the best value crawler in its class and will make the competition green with envy.

fun kit

Aug 24, 2017

A great kit comes assembled but you have to disassemble to install components. Down side is that the motors recommended by HK are too long by 2mm to fit completely all the way into housing necessitating the leaving off the covers which means one shock mount is not fully supported. Also the paint needs to be removed from the motors as they are too tight a fit. The description leaves out the important information that you need 2 pinion gears 8t for 2mm shaft (not available in oz warehouse). One last point i found with mine you have to reverse polarity of one motor to have them both run in same direction. As previously mentioned by someone else an esc with no brake is preferred so you can rock when stuck. Final comment a cool machine a lot of fun and if you want some zap high performance scale electric slot car motors and pinions will fit.

Great quality vehicle, bargain for the price. Note, mine arrived fully assembled. So don't assume you'll receive a kit

Highly recommend this as it gives hours of fun! Buy the 4ch radio gear not the car one.. as it gives you independent control of the front/rear steering but there is very minimal room for the receiver as I had to mount my little orange rx park flyer receiver with cable ties to the back (looks more rugged anyway)

Glad I didn't buy the RTR version as the independent steer is soo much better than a friends RTR version.

NOTES:
-Make sure you order the 2 piece 130 motors with the pinion gears not the basher torque motors as they do not come with pinion gears.
-Get the 4ch heli/plane transmitter!! you wont regret it! Tip: you can wiggle the back independantly on the fly to increase traction
-Try to get a ESC without brake, the brake just stops you from being able to reverse quickly, there is plenty of torque from the gears and motors to stop it on its own.

Strong crawler. I have 2pcs its great car and verry funny. But buy 2or3 Internal Gears because wheel is susceptible to breakage. (transmission is susceptible to breakage). HF

Its pretty neat, but I think the kit is a poor value. I ordered all of the recommended items to go with it, but I had to create a y-harness for the speed controller because it only had a single output and the kit has dual motors. Additionally, I was under the impression that I could easily do 4 wheel steering. I could, but it was difficult to switch between steering the same direction vs opposite directions. I fried a servo trying to figure it out and now I only have front steering. All in all, its not bad and was very fun to play with, but it would be awesome if the parts for the RTR were fully available for the kit builders (including wiring harnesses or whatever).
