Absolutely the best value RC car I've bought. I did purchase during a sale, but regardless, this truggy is 100% worth buying. There are many easy & inexpensive mods & upgrades that can be done. This car is very capable & the design & layout just works. I would even consider buying a second one.... Don't hesitate if you're not sure !I have some things I can complain here: springs are really weak.
Also the philips screws were a bad choise for obvious reason.
Battery bay design is causing some bad time because I can't use my Zippo batteries due to location of the battery wire - battery tower thingy blocks it completely. Batteries with connectors on top are way to go.
On the plus side after a few pretty horror show-crash landings (but only max 1 meter height) nothing seems to be broken yet so material may be pretty good even when it's plastic.
In case someone wants to know, the batteries are connected in series.
For the price it's 5/5 truggy but with some small changes (which probably wouldn't increase the price) it would be a 6/5 star product.not badThis truck has simply amazed me. I have been running the snot out of this truck and it still hauls! Its is much faster and stronger than I expected it to be with a slim motor. This truck is very well put together and I was amazed at how solid it was given the price. This truck has run with or beat most other 1/8th scale truggies that I have run against. It does need shock and diff oil immediately, but most expensive truggies do as well. I would also suggest ordering spare parts and the optional springs when ordering the truck. The parts are cheap and many were in stock. This thing is great. I have it running on 2 lipo 2 cell 30c and it goes excellent. for a 1st car or even something to add to your collection this car is great. Just throw in your own reciever and batteries and off you go. I have put new oil in the shocks and upgraded the springs but im also doing some big off road stuff jumps and hard landings... as it was out of the box is great for just a good run around some open space or park. This is a good truck and a good buy, but it really means almost ready to run, it needs a few things before running properly. There’s the obvious radio and batteries. But WOW this truck was completely out of wack out of the box. The camber and toe was way out. The shocks and diffs need new oil. And the shocks need stiffer springs too. But it’s really good for the moneyI have to admit I am glad that I decided to go with this Truggy. It is well put together and for the money you cannot beat the performance and the quality of construction. You do need to make a few modifications but straight out of the box it will last you for a very long time.Car is quite okay for the price, but aside from some very optimistic reviews here, the car is worth the money, but you see the savings on every small piece.
Shocks are much too soft, option spring backlogged since 2 months.
ESC burnt after one minute, was replaced by antoher one.
Screw are all philips screws and very soft, typical for cheap cars and is really annoying, i would suggest to replace every screw with Allen screws as soon as you have to open it.
Car runs fine on 4s, but CVDs on the front are very weak.
Biggest problem of the car is not the car itself, it´s the bad supply of spare parts and this is deadly in my eyes for a RC car.
I ordered parts in advance 2 months ago, they are still not available, HK is not able to bring parts to the customers. The Saberthoot is good car for the price you pay: it is big, it is fast and the spare parts are very cheap. To make it a great rc it needs some work however, this is what i did so far:
- take out the diffs, clean the grease out and fill with diff oil (i did 50000cst center and 15000cst front and rear
- the springs are way to soft, change them for something harder
- change the chok oil (i did 600cst front, 800cst rear)
- the tires on the truck are useable but not great, changed them to proline badlands
With some work done on it , the Saberthoot is super, and still cheaper then other brands out there.
If you're in doubt, just buy it!Watch these videos and judge for yourself!!!!!!
