I have to admit I am glad that I decided to go with this Truggy. It is well put together and for the money you cannot beat the performance and the quality of construction. You do need to make a few modifications but straight out of the box it will last you for a very long time.Car is quite okay for the price, but aside from some very optimistic reviews here, the car is worth the money, but you see the savings on every small piece.
Shocks are much too soft, option spring backlogged since 2 months.
ESC burnt after one minute, was replaced by antoher one.
Screw are all philips screws and very soft, typical for cheap cars and is really annoying, i would suggest to replace every screw with Allen screws as soon as you have to open it.
Car runs fine on 4s, but CVDs on the front are very weak.
Biggest problem of the car is not the car itself, it´s the bad supply of spare parts and this is deadly in my eyes for a RC car.
I ordered parts in advance 2 months ago, they are still not available, HK is not able to bring parts to the customers. The Saberthoot is good car for the price you pay: it is big, it is fast and the spare parts are very cheap. To make it a great rc it needs some work however, this is what i did so far:
- take out the diffs, clean the grease out and fill with diff oil (i did 50000cst center and 15000cst front and rear
- the springs are way to soft, change them for something harder
- change the chok oil (i did 600cst front, 800cst rear)
- the tires on the truck are useable but not great, changed them to proline badlands
With some work done on it , the Saberthoot is super, and still cheaper then other brands out there.
If you're in doubt, just buy it!Watch these videos and judge for yourself!!!!!!
https://youtu.be/Ie__H8tZuD4Very good car that keeps up and even outruns allot of the more expensive brands.. ive been into rc my whole life and allways bought the less expensive models and tweaked them to outperform the well know brands... with this its not really necessary to tweak anything.. just add your choice of tx/rx and battery and its ready to go.. its a beast with 4s.. and the motor can even handle 6s if u replace the esc..if ur gonna do a lot of jumps i would suggest installing stiffer springs.
Ps. Dont forget to check all screws and tighten if necessary. .especially the wheel nuts
Im really happy with this car.. a real bargain! Thanks hobbyking.Where do I start. Such an awesome buggy for such little coin. I only just got back into rc cars after about 2 years and was looking around for 2 or so weeks. After a lot of reviews and YouTube videos I decided to go with the SaberTooth as a ARTR. Once I received this awesome well sized 1/8 truggy I was really impressed. I run it as is outta the box for the first 5 packs. Thengine only down fall right out of the box was the shocks. They need thicker oil. After adding 45wt to theat front and 50wt to the rear this thing is amazing. Have about 15 packs throw the truggy now with no problems. this is a well thought out truggy. Parts are very strong and cheap. I will be buying the buggy as well. That's how happy I am. Thanks hobbyking and BSR for yourent awesome cars!Absolutely love this truggy!! Best money I've ever spent! It's fast durrable and huge! Best bang for your buck on the market! But when you get it, order diff oil and shock oil too. You will be happy you did!Bashed it for a month now, jumping it, sliding it, crashing it, the only thing I managed to bend only one CVD, the car is holding up pretty nice, it's more than sufficiently powerful for the price (hit 68 kph), one need to upgrade will be the springs and the diff oil. Highly recommend itCarrinha grande e bonita pena a hobbyking nao ter peças em stock para a mesmaAwesome trugy, really fast, very strong materials, have not broken anything yet. Changed tge tires with badlans looks even better and drives better too. Thanks hobby king
