My experience with the Durafly EFX Racer has been a really good one. It’s fast, stable and a real adrenaline rush to fly. Below, I'll list five of my favorite things about this out-of-the-box speed devil.

Speed

The first and most obvious feature is definitely the speed. I bought it as a casual grab-n-go sport plane, however, in my opinion, it performs like an RC jet; you can have the thrill of going fast at a low cost. On a 3s LiPo, it’s fast, but on a 4s LiPo, it becomes a different beast - easily going from one end of the runway to the other in a matter of seconds. I didn’t install a sensor to clock in its actual speed, but it definitely goes over 100 mph with its stock configuration. If you’re looking for something to get a real adrenaline rush from without breaking the bank, this electric foamie won’t disappoint.

Sleek and Solid Finish

While the majority of the build is constructed with EPO foam, the EFX Racer is finished with both glass and carbon fiber reinforcements. This makes the airframe extra study while still keeping the model fairly light. The polished finish enhances the aerodynamics of the aircraft while giving it a contemporary and sleek look.

Stability at All Speeds

To my surprise, the EFX Racer is incredibly stable and easy to fly. Its robust airframe means that it hardly moves around in the wind and can fly very slow and remain very controllable. Whether you’re flying it on a smooth day or flying in a fair amount of wind, this electric RC plane will fly through it with ease and is truly just a stress-free model everyone can enjoy.

Slope Soaring

The fact that the EFX Racer can also be used as a slope soarer is definitely a great bonus. You can fit the slope soaring nose cone on the front and take it to any cliff and fly for hours at a time on just one battery. Even as a glider, the EFX offers excellent stability and has satisfactory flight characteristics that are on par with a normal glider. The versatility this RC plane offers is second to none.

Color and Decals: Easy Orientation

Last but not least is the striking and dynamic color theme of the aircraft. I got the yellow version, however, the orange one is equally as good. The assertive coloration doesn’t only make this plane a menace in the sky, but orientation is also made fairly easy – even at those extreme speeds, it is pretty easy to track and follow my baby around.

Final Words

At this price point ($149.99 USD), the High-Performance EFX Racer is simply a bargain. Even toy-grade RC planes can cost anywhere from $100 USD and more. So if you're looking for a speed demon that's easy to fly and very stable, the EFX Racer is probably the plane for you.
