Team Multistar wins big at FPV World Cup!

Over the weekend, Model Aeronautical Association Australia (MAAA) in association with The Royal Adelaide Show (RA&HS) held the FPV World Cup in Adelaide.

An estimated 10,000 spectators were in attendance for the drone racing event at the showground.

While the prize money draws a large crowd and strong competitors, The RA&HS and MAAA say their “primary motivation is to entertain and educate the public in Drone racing and encourage the growth of the sport in Australia.” Team Multistar has had their eye on Rudi Browning and Ben Mortensen for awhile as consistent performances at the pointy end of the field and attitude towards racing have been paying off in results. Newly signed to Team Multistar Both Rudi and Ben will play an important part in this World Championship winning team with additional product testing and development.

This was the first race to meet that both Rudi and Ben had the support of Team Multistar over the weekend. Describing the event, Browning said, 'the atmosphere was electric as [we] made our way out to the flight line'. Both players, who both used Graphene 75C 1300mah 4s batteries recall the intense atmosphere during the grand final as the competition was brutal the previous day. Browning describes the moment the stadium floodlights illuminated to the sound of their names being called towards the flight line. Rudi Browning recalls saying:

"On my call, on my call..... Go! All 4 quads took off simultaneously. I didn't get the holeshot but I managed to stay calm and focused and took the lead halfway into the first lap. Ben Mortensen maintained his third-place position battling hard with other pilots, who had an unfortunate crash, putting him into fourth place."

This then meant Ben was in third place and pushing hard to try and find the overtake for second. Rudi crossed the line in first place taking the victory, as Ben finished closely behind in 3rd, who had a ripper race! Upon completion of the race, Browning said "Overall an intense final but lucky to have used the Graphene 75C powering across the finish line!
