If you are a warbird enthusiast, like me, then you’ll want to pay attention to HobbyKing’s new H-King Micro B-25J Mitchell "Lady Lil" Gunship 550mm (21.6") PNF.
The H-King Micro B-25J Mitchell ‘Lady Lil’ Gunship, is modeled after the B-25J Mitchell Gunship, an American twin-engine bomber that was made and used in World War II. The original model was named after General Billy Mitchell, who was a pioneer of U.S military aviation. HobbyKing has decided to recreate this in micro size to give warbird fans some new and exciting models.
Designed with a wide flight envelope, the Micro B-25J Gunship is packed with loads of impressive features. It has a DSM2 compatible receiver and onboard stabilization for smooth flight performance. It is complete with an optional clip-in landing gear with the steerable nose wheel. So buying this model seemed like a no-brainer!
Upon opening my package, my first impression was ‘Wow, it really is small’. I can’t say I was surprised considering the word ‘micro’ is in the title of the model. In saying that, I certainly don’t say small in a negative manner but to the contrary. Having previously collected larger scale warbirds, I find it quite refreshing to open a small package.
Being a micro model, it is fantastic to fly indoors but it can also be flown outdoors depending on the weather conditions. For the best performance, the calm weather would be an ideal time to fly this model outdoors.
Personally, the most exciting part of the micro size of the model is that now I won’t have to clear too much space to store the model. It could probably even sit on my desk. It’s definitely a size that I would be interested in collecting some more of, so I’m really hoping that HobbyKing releases some more brilliant micro-sized warbirds and similar models.
Overall, however, one of the best things about the model is that there is no time wasted trying to put the parts together. This plug and fly model is really simple and easy to build, so you’ll be ready to go flying in no time.
In conclusion, HobbyKing’s B-25J Gunship “Lady Lil”, is a remarkably authentic scale rendition that is packed with loads of impressive features.
