Here is the Crash Cash Winner for February 2022:

Raf Golsteyn

1) Where are you from and how did you get into the hobby?

"I am from Belgium, and I live in a very small village not far away from our Model Club Airfield, which is called https://diestmodelclub.be/ check us out! ;-) The club is situated on a military paratrooper base in Diest-Schaffen. During the weekends we share this location with a civilian para club and a sailplane club. Lots of airworthy things and people airborne..."

2) What’s the story behind your RC model and the crash?

"The crash, yeah, not so proud about this particular crash, a brand new Mosquito, a Seagull kit, 2-meter span, nicely built, electrified it with all HobbyKing parts, motors, ESC's, servos and LiPo's. The first flight, a bit tail heavy but very nervous on tailwing, flew like a whale. Tried to trim the plane, and began to enjoy the flight performance. Deploying the landing flaps were lethal; the plane pitched straight up, stalled, and went nose down in a full-speed dive with no means to recover from stalling. Too bad, the plane crashed beyond repair I think. I fly model airplanes for more than 45 years, must have been one of the worst crashes in my fly-lifetime."

3) What's your favorite RC model and why?

"I recently bought a second-hand used Multiplex Fun Cub, and yes this is a real fun thing; at the moment my favorite!"

4) What is the best part of being an RC pilot and why?

"The life at the model club, the lads, my friends, enjoying and sharing the same interests. I like the weekends. I like building, flying, and crashing planes. No one is perfect. Glad I am a part of it.."
