When the 2.4Ghz radio control systems came onto the market several years ago this was breakthrough technology, no longer were RC systems crystal controlled. The number of models that could be flown at any one time was no longer an issue and being able to just switch on your transmitter without the fear of shooting someone else's model out of the air was a revelation. The downside was that the 2.4Ghz receivers were quite expensive for the proprietary systems on the market at that time which meant a lot of us had to switch receivers from model to model because of the cost.
The OrangeRx range of 2.4Ghz receivers was developed to offer a value-for-money alternative to the receivers being sold by the main manufacturers such as Spektrum and Futaba. Since their inception, OrangeRx receivers have been at the forefront of receiver technology, improving, and redesigning where necessary to stay ahead of the game, but always without losing the value for money concept.
The latest R615X receiver carries on this tradition of utilizing the very latest technology but at an unbeatable price. Due to the previously used IC for the original R615X becoming obsolete, a new IC had to be sourced and the receiver redesigned. This culminated in a brand new receiver being developed which has improved range, stability, interference rejection, and overall improved performance. These features from the original design have been retained, they include the dual antenna system which provides true signal reception diversity, programmable failsafe on binding, ultra-fast brown-out recovery, and wide voltage input range.
Every R615X is manufactured using impedance-matched PCBs with exact tuning to provide signal stability and range that exceeds any of the previous generations. All receivers are also QC tested using our latest method which ensures range checking takes place as the unit is programmed. Simply put, if the R615X cannot pass the range check criteria then it cannot be programmed, this ensures that every one is guaranteed to work flawlessly.
Whilst the R615X is a small lightweight receiver designed for use with small to medium size aircraft and quads, the range is exceptionally good, and perfect for a wide range of models. We do, however, highly recommend that you carry out a thorough range check with your set-up before flying.
