After two weekends racing, both on 2WD and 4WD (different motors) I can just say it is a good combo, plenty of power and runs cool. I'm using High C Lipo's, so speed and punch is more than enough even for experienced drivers.

This about Forward brake mode...on Forward Reverse mode is it just a nightmare to control, with an input lag arround 0,5s once you change from neutral to accelerate from your tx.

Would it be any problem with my ESC or just it was planed for forward only use?

I got to say, This is a great combo. My slash 2wd is going over 50mph. The Motor is getting a little hot, the ESC is always cool. I just bought a cooler for the motor, here in Brazil its needed.

Ok this thing has gobs of power. I put it in my gmade r1 and have wheel shreding power. I actualy broke a drive pin. And these things are quite strong.

The only thing I would like beter is a drag brake. You can set up the brake with the program card.

i have run many novak and castle setups and this combo is on par with the high dollar combos.

If you choose this combo make shure that your car is up to the power, if not then you WILL break parts.

I have quite a few charges run through this combe and no probablems with it. Watch your setup though, if you mess up the settings then it is easy to change with the program card.

I like the program card beter than the novak system. it is sooooo much beter to use the card than haveing to watch lights and listen for beeps.

Well hobby king techs. So far i love your products, I have been into the hobby sense 1982 and your products rival tamiya in quality.

This is a good esc and motor combo, I used it the 1/8 trooper from hobbyking and I measured it as 44mph! It did 28mph stock. It doesn't get past 40C and has plenty of power, only 2 small problems, firstly, if you go from reverse to forwards, it doesn't brake first, just wheel spins the opposite way, and secondly my throttle calibration has to be redone every 10 minutes as it creeps to the point where without touching the Tx it will travel at about 5-10mph! Not sure about this, any help would be appreciated!

Nice combo.

I put this combo in my tamiya m-05 waaayyyyyy to much power.

So i put the brushed system back in that one and put this system in my x-ray and put my drift tires on and wow power on demand and the drifts were nice and controlable with plenty of power to spare. Smooth throttle response useing the sensor.

I am useing a 5000mah nimh because I do not have a lipo saddle pack. Lipo would be almost to much. And yes I am going to do it. To much power I dont think there is any such thing right? lol

Only 4 crowns for overal rating because of the instructions, the program card is great. Easy to use and almost idiot proof. I am refering to myself here he he.

Overall a great setup and plenty of power. I will post more when the rain stops and I get more time to run this beast. I dont want to chance the unit getting wet.

Well done HK.

This is great product! I installed it in my Ruckus and have noticed that it puts the stock brushed motor to shame. I have 8cell NIMH battery powering it and it moves fast, but from what i here i can get more power out of Lipo battery. There is just a few concerns about this product, on my initial take off the truck studdards like if somthing is wrong with the gears, does anyone know what this is?? also i dont quite understand the sensor or senserless motor system and what is the short black cable for? can anyone give me some assistants??

After much research I bought this combo for my Elecrix RC Ruckus, and WOW! Motor bolted right up, has lots of screw hole combinations. I bought a 25c 3-Cell 4000 battery and its wicked strong and fast and the motor barely gets warm. Great product, great price, and lots of programming options. I have everything power wise on the programming card turned down or it would rip my truck apart its so powerful. Just plane Awesome!

Great combo indeed. I use it in a traxxas 'JamPede' Monster Mutt and it's amazing. Lots of settings and since it's sensored it's really smooth! On 3s I can still make it smooth and harmless for my 4 year old son while on 2s it can be fast and popping wheelies all the time, even when at 70pcnt power. Initial accelleration, timing, drag brake, percentage forward and reverse make it possible to set it up as a completely different animal. Running it for a couple of months now and is just as great now as it was with the first couple of runs. Ordered another set for backup or if i decide to get yet another traxxas truck (also have the summit with hk 150a).
Great feature is when the sensor cable disconnects while running, it just continues in sensorless mode (making it less smooth and cogging of course, but still fun!)

Got a couple of sensorless kd36-60-06l 4000kv and an hk 3650 3980 kv for backup too, but my son is a big fan of sensored! Really controllable.

I like the setup except that the programming card does not activate, the little red light at the top comes on but that's it. I think it is defective. If any one knows something I don't about using it please reply. Thanks

So this is a great combo ,i put this in my hsp brontosaurus 1/10 .personaly i would have like that solder point of the motor to be on the other side as now the wires need to be longer and they need to curve.Would have been nice to hace some wire in the kit also to solder to the motor.also the sensor wire isnt really tight so maybe in the future ill need to gluegun these.the sensor wire is included .the program card in the manual says disconect the signal wire but if i do that it doesnt work as soon as i iserted it the card works now i use the lipo batterie to power it ,maybe the is for use with an external batterie?i used the right plughole in the card as that one showed the signal wire in its drawing.its a great combo seems to have alot of power and the 10 program options are great.pretty amazing for the money now tomorow ill take it out for a testrun.
