I weighed the individual parts before starting the assembly process.

83 g Left wing
69 g Right wring (NOTE THE EXTRA 14 grams on the left wing)
2.8g Wing Joiner (big)
0.4g Wing Joiner (small)
33.1g Pod
11.6g Boom (replaced with aluminum tube 7.8g)
5.4g Vertical stab & rudder
11.4g Horizontal stab
0.2g Plywood boom hold/rear bulkhead
3.6g "push rod" wire (replaced with fishing line pull/pull/rubber band system)
4.0g Canopy (before trimming)

Note the 14g difference between the left and right wing. After joining the wings, the balance point is 15mm left of center, added 8 grams on the right wing 330mm from center to balance.

1st flight today, 290g flight weight (no engine/prop, just a glider).

CG at 65mm, need to add 13g in front to get this CG.

the only real benefit of the PDF plans for the Canary would be to fin the recommended CG point , (52-58mm from LE)

I used a cheap wooden kids ruler for the servo tray as it was lighter and strong enough. I also fabricated some control horns from a sheet of strong plastic they I salvage from a kids toy, they are just like the ones on a Fling, as I tossed out the heavy metal pushrods and now use braided fishing line, push/pull setup. SO light!

very nice lil glider.... fuse a tad narrower than expected.... had to use ultra micro servos for clearance.... had bought 9g digital they do not fit.
the 950ma 2 cell battery and a 10A HK BLESC worked great with a lil eflite 250 2200kv outrunner and a .049 prop for reasonable flight times..... still looking for an acceptable folding prop.

overall good deal.... though was surprised at international shipping cost applied to USA warehouse order with USPS shipping thinking it would be more honest to raise product price and charge actual shipping cost.

wonderfull glider for beginner, indestructible and very stable after a correct calibration, CG for a stable flight are at 70mm and not 52-59mm like writen in the manual. The balsa support for the servo controller are not included i had to build one and fix to the nacelle

I did the maiden today on a light slope. I am overall pleased with the flying caracteristics of the bird, although the CoG in the manual is selected rather progressive. Mine entered balanced flight at approx 63mm from leading edge, which gives very sophisticated control over both axis. Elevator is approx. 1 degree up, which is fine. Changing AOA does not give better results. Tip stall is nice and smooth. You just should not use the rods and horns supplied with the kit. I did a pull-pull configuration on both rudder and elevator, search for 'Fling manual' on the net for instructions. Using a 2s 350mAh LiPO directly connected to a OrangeRX5 and using two simple 9g HK15178 servos, you get a *very* cheap yet full package, which is darn nice flyable in light wind conditions.
