Great stuff at a reasonable price. Contrary to a prior write up, it will bend around curved surfaces - you just have to be patient and use the correct resin. All tissues or veils are bound with chemical so they hold their shape when shipped. When saturated with the correct resin, the binding dissolves and the tissue become pliable like wet tissue paper.
The description says to use epoxy resin, so you must use epoxy to get it to dissolve - polyester or vinyl ester resins won't do it. I tested a small section and sure enough, after about 45 seconds the binding released and I could drape it around a curved boat hull. Just be sure to saturate it in place as once the binding dissolves you cannot move it other than to smooth it to the surface or it balls up in a big mess.
The only reason for the 4 crown rating is that it only comes in 1 meter lengths. My boats and glider wings are longer than that and I would like to be able to use longer single pieces to fully cover without worrying about seams. Sell it by the meter please! (Are you listening HK?)
fantastic for reinforcement with just a lick of 2 part epoxy on light weight structures; easy to cut with plain scissors, but a bit "delicate" when the epoxy is setting if you try to dab off excess resin - tends to lift; looking forward to using it in some airframes as a fibreglass substitute because the weight is negligible even compared to ultralight glasssehr leichtes Gewebe. benutze es fr die Verstrkung der Flgelkanten an meinen Schaum-Modellen. Super ProduktRecommended this by friends who have used it to repair their CF frames and are happy with the quality.-disadvantage:
Durability - tissue paper (requires more reinforcement than the realties).
Not very much present, you can actually use.
Much Lushe using tissue from women's stockings!
Instantly absorbs glue.So light! I used it with epoxy and my broken wing is fine again! Thanks!Great stuff, for a great price! I used it to bulletproof my Unicorn flying wing. Just one word of advise: wear gloves while handling the sheets, even when only measuring and cutting. Tiny micro fibers wioll attach to your hands...This is great stuff! Really good to cover foam wings, make rockets or just to make weak spots strongerexactly as described. havent used it yet, but i'm confident this will create a nice strong surfaceVery interesting product, it is CF tissue covered by a very thin layer of resin. Like all CF it is very tough and virtually impossible to shear, but because it is very thin and light it is easy to crack by bending or puncture. So it is ideal for covering / reinforcing flat surfaces (e.g. wings, fuse belly) but NOT for complex / curved surfaces - use glass cloth there.
