Here's another great affordable little balsa Kit for the traditional R/C hobbyist and builder who enjoys constructing models from kit form.
The Cloud Dancer is an all built up, 4 channel, electric powered trainer. It features sharp accurate laser cut parts that simply slot together with little fuss, the wing looks fantastic when covered with transparent covering to show off the construction.
The power system consists of an 30 size outrunner and 2200 3s battery, using Mini servos to keep her nice and light.
The resulting model is a nice electric trainer model with tricycle undercarriage that performs well. The cloud Dancer has aileron/elevator/rudder/motor control and steerable nose wheel, yet is tough enough to handle the odd 'oops!' moment from novice flyers and compact enough to be transported easily.
Weight: 1000g (Bare Airframe)
4 Channel radio system and 4 x mini servos
30 size Outrunner
40 Amp Esc
3s 2200mah Lipoly battery
Basic hobby tools (knife, sand paper etc)
Build manual listed under the 'Files' tab below
- Blade Count:
Building sometimes was a bit tricky due to the very basic manual; some parts are not shown on the pictures and it's a little challenge to find out where they belong to. In the end, I used almost all of them and think I did everything right. Laser cut quality was not perfect at some points, but all parts were useable. Model looks very nice and is a great build for the money. Maiden is still to happen...
The kit is not so well cut and you spend too much time at cutting things off. but beyond that it is a very fine kit for the money. and everything is included in the price.
Good kit, excellent quality. I was impressed with this one. Hardware package puts it over the top. Way to go HK
Medium quality, but the parts are fine.
a good little kit, not for beginners. Missing parts make for need of imagination, throw away instructions they aren't worth the paper they are printed on. some picture that can be of assistance can be found here http://www.rcindia.org/electric-planes/cloud-dancer-build-log/ along with google the plane is quite build able. Looks great once finished, wood is of acceptable quality.
I haven't finished the building yet, I have done one wing, tail and most of the fuselage.
The kit is extremely cheap, and the quality is the good. Isn't a $220 kit, but for about 30 you can't have anything better. The manual is bad, but you steel can make the kit with this instructions
au shipping... about 48 hours... or less? sunday night...its now tuesday afternoon...
nice quality, includes trike gear with pre-bent wire, wheels and all little bits... horns and rods etc.
looks like it should take a nitro conversion (saito 30 in my cse) fairly easily.
instructions... no full size layout, and very rudimentary.
at least theyre in english...but not really necessary anyway, its so simple. slot and glue, cover, fly.
i havent gotten to that point. just opened the box :)
Make sure you have a sharp hobby knife available, because there is a lot of cutting required to release parts. instructions leave alot to be desired.
IT's a good plane, flies nicely, doesn't altitude when banking that much. The only thing that I found, that I have to screw out the wing each time I want to change battery. That kind of annoying.
