Like to go fast? If you do and you like flying in style, check out the Cobra 90mm Sport Jet EDF. Designed around a 8S (29.6V) LiPoly, 11 Blade 90mm EDF and a powerful 3553 1120KV motor, the Cobra takes off with authority and keeps on going. This is not your average foamie EDF, it is a feature packed model with premium components designed for durability and reliability.

The light weight EPO airframe leaves a slick finish for those high speed runs straight down the runway, while a highly visible trim scheme keeps you oriented when you sky her out. Large flaps slow the Cobra down for smooth landings. Speaking of landing, the Cobra comes with all aluminum retractable gear with sequenced gear doors and functional oleo struts for those less than perfect landings. Aluminum wheels on rubber tires round out a nice landing package. Other notable features of this model include ball links on all pushrods, a large removable battery hatch, and a two piece plug-in wing. Connecting the wing servos couldn't be easier since the Cobra has a integrated PCB board/connector setup. Each wing only requires one connector to plug in the aileron/flap/retract.  We also include two different vertical fin designs with rudder servos pre-installed in each allowing you to customize the look of your Cobra.

The Cobra comes out of the box plug and fly. Just install your 6+ channel receiver, charge up your 8S Lipoly battery, program the transmitter and fly! One evening of work is all you need to have the Cobra up and running.

Features:
• Plug and Fly - Minor assembly, just install your receiver and battery
• Molded EPO foam airframe
• Bolt together construction
• Aluminum Retractable landing gear with sequenced gear doors
• High power EDF unit pre-installed
• Alloy wheels with rubber tires
• Ball links on all pushrods
• Two different vertical fins included

Flies very well and has lots of power and inertia for 3D. One of the best flying jets I had. Unfortunately electronics are not reliable - motor is not up to the task (mine burned on the 5th flight) and you need to avoid servo distribution board as the "roads" there are too thin and burn too.

Nice easy to build EDF Plane, had some problems getting the EDF running, seems that the trim has to be at the lowest value and than the ESC was armed and the EDF runned okay. Took it to the filed for the maiden flight, first time I wasn't able to get the plane in take off, it required more than 100 mtrs on a grass filed, second try was with 15pcnt flap setting and I was able to take off after 75 mtrs. The plane flies super and is easy to handle, landing should come in at a relative low speed for a EDF Jet. I am very satisfied for the price/performance of this plane! Have fun flying it when you buy one , is a super plane! regards John

Just flew my Cobra about 11 times now and even at 5300 ft. elevation it's a fast and nice fling jet for the money. Not real fast though but looks great and flies very well. Easy to fly and a good bigger starter jet for first time jet pilots. Lands super easy with little to no power unless windy, then use more power and it still lands smooth. For this price I just bought another one!!

On my 5th flight the motor burned up on takeoff and I did not have enough elevation to make it back to the runway. I damaged the nose gear and the main gear pushed up thru the wing.
Hobbyking won't even warranty the motor because of (crash damage) in there words. I was pulling 2300 watts @ 72.5 amps. You can smell the burnt motor.
Other notes: Mine had too much down thrust, causing the jet to dive on acceleration and balloon when you let off.
There are only cheep foam hinges on the aileron, elevator and rudder.
All control linkages are pretty flimsy.
The jet sounded good and flew ok on the few flights I had.

Great price for this EDF! It not only comes with 2 rudders, but each of the rudder already has the servo installed. So effectively, you have a spare servo for the plane!

Took mine out today for its maiden bone stock standard off our grass field. The 1st flight lasted about 4 mins on 4000's, had about 20pcnt charge left in the packs. For the 2nd flight I used 4500's and flew 5 mins including a goodly amount of aerobatics & low passes at WOT. In this instance the packs were almost flat.
All in all I'm well pleased with this model which hasn't given me any issues, including the PCB. Flew like it was on rails!

Hi. Purchased the Cobra in the sale 30pcnt off !!
have to say this is one terrific jet. Went together very well but I changed the Esc to a higher rated one and glued it so that it catches the air flow inside to help cooling. Also had to sand the wing-joining locating foam, to ensure wings located exactly to the airframe.
The retracts work really well but the door sequencer gets confused and can jam if you leave the wheels down. I find as long as I retract before switching off the radio, when I reconnect and do a cycle of down and up then finally down for takoff, all work fine.
We have a grass runway and found this jet a bit heavy for grass takeoffs. I needed to apply appox 15 deg. flap and a really good long level run for takeoff. Landing I used appox. 75-80 deg. flaps programmed for slow apply. Jet slows dramatically but shows no sign of a stall - just kept an amount of power on to allow a flare and gentle landing.
Joy to fly - no vices and flies slowly enough to relax and enjoy. only down side is with 4000Mah 45C batteries I get 3mins only but who cares just means I can practice my landings !!

What a nice plane! Now we have 4 from this at our field.

The only thing i dont like, is the cable-board inside. When i want to use bigger battery, i have to change the place from the cableboard.
