Worth the wait

‘had to wait for it to be back in stock; worth the wait.
‘wish it came with 2 1/2” main wheels.
Really like this model so far. Due to weather conditions, haven’t been able to fly it yet.
‘waiting for it to come back in stock; I have a .32 size glow engine I’d like to try on it.

So Close but Disappointing

Was excited to receive this stick model in good condition. Assembly was pretty easy with 2 exceptions. First, the one of the tabs that engage the vertical fin to the fuselage is misaligned by about 10 mm. It interferes with the rear screw holding the horizontal stabilizer in place. Second, the enclosed hardware is of the lowest quality ever seen. Add better quality hardware and raise the price a dollar or two if you must.
A bigger issue I found was that the t-nuts securing the landing gear were installed backwards. That is with the "head" facing outward; not taking advantage of 2 layers of lite ply to support the gear but relying only on the glue holding them in place. This caused the gear to rip out with screws and t-nuts attached on a fairly normal landing.
Crusader is close to great but the lack of attention to detail makes it a near miss IMO.

5 * because it´s very light , Wood and fly fantastic .
i´ve bulild in an 35 42 Motor 1250 kv with 4s 2350 mah
on a 9 x 6 Propeller .

UPDATE and Comparison to V2

I have been flying my Crusader (Stick) now for a good long time (1year+) and had to make a few crash repairs after some minor arguments with the ground.
The tail is now a little crooked. The undercart is a little bent and the covering has a few patches here and there.
This model continues to be my favourite with the necessary strengthening around the undercarriage area it soldiers on without complaint.
Several people have bought the V2 Ugly Stick (foam version) to our flying field and they have all agreed that the balsa version seems to fly better.
This model with a 3s 2200 and a 3536 1450KV motor is still epic.
Yes, I have puffed a couple of batteries with this model and it isn't as 'floaty' as the V2 version but I still love it!
It's a speed monster when you want it to be but with the big draggy wing it slows down really beautifully.

avió molt lleuger. vol tranquil pero si l'aprestes pot fer acro senzilla. motor 2835 1000kw. helix 10x5. slow fly. variador 30 ampers. bateries 2200mh. no cal tocar res. centre gravetat perfecte. la cua es molt efectiva. molt recomanable per disfrutar sense problemes.

Nice to fly after issues sorted

Several of us at LVMAC have found the Crusader nice once it is sorted out. The hinges are fiddly, the landing gear mounting is flimsy, the firewall is weak and had to be reinforced, the mounting for the motor was difficult because the lower screw holes clashed with the battery tray and had to be corrected, the fuselage is skewed so that the wing and horizontal stab is not square, the wing mounting screws are fiddly to install, because the wing position is not aligned with the holes, the wheels are too small for grassy fields - I used slightly larger diameter wheels successfully, and the tail wheel mounting is not well thought out

Love this plane

Ok I am in the market to replace, as I crashed mine, but I was looping rolling stall turning, I’m just not that good a pilot and got carried away. Don’t use the motor recommended though you need 3535 1200kv minimum, the recommended motor struggles to take off, but there is nothing wrong with the plane. Don’t think, just buy one, you won’t regret it
