    For everyone who builds and repairs their own models a covering iron is a must have tool in the workshop arsenal.  

     

    This LED sealing iron can be used on heat-shrink film or heat shrink fabric covering. It comes with a Teflon-coated shoe for non-stick working and a safety stand. This great iron features a low-profile head that makes it easier to work with on those difficult spots such as around canopies or hatches as well as tight fillets and compound curves.

    With precise temperature control you can have complete confidence in setting your iron to the best working temperature for the film being used and the ergonomic handle makes it easier to work with for longer jobs, like large wings and bigger fuselages. The green and red LED's give the power and temperature status of the iron when in use.

    Seems very good quality, not as heavy as some so not hard to use, temperature control easy to adjust, worked really well so far, at a great price, would definitely recommend this covering iron

    Replacing my old faithful that had died after years of service I wasn't sure about the smaller control on this new iron, but in practice it's perfect, with lights to let you know when it's up to temp, and you don't keep knocking the temp knob like the old style so it's a big improvement

    The iron works, the price from HobbyKing is very competitive, but the iron fails functionally in important areas

    The iron works OK but I am not convinced that the sole has a teflon coat, it looks just like paint to me.
    The temperature setting knob is particularly awkward to use, it is far too small and accurate positioning is difficult.
