The Dolphin Jet is big fun in a small package! With its low price, ultra-tough EPO foam construction and being Plug and Fly, the Dolphin Jet offers excellent value and fun at a price you can't beat!

Simplicity and practicality were kept in mind when designing this airframe. It offers an easily removable magnetic battery hatch, bolt on one piece wing and molded cooling holes for the battery compartment.

Most importantly, the Dolphin Jet flies as good as it looks, as a beginner's EDF it can't be beat. This model features a wide flight envelope - it's equally happy zipping along at full throttle as it is cruising at reduced power. It's also aerobatic allowing for loops, rolls and just about any other basic aerobatic move you can think of!

Thanks to its pre-installed brushless EDF power system and servos, you can be flying your Dolphin Jet in no time! No glue is required for the assembley process at all! Simply affix the landing gear and tail in place, add your receiver and battery, bolt the wing on and go!

Speaking of the power system, included is an additional optional pusher motor mount for those that may like to experiment with taking video or micro FPV'ing their Dolphin.

What can I say. Went together in about 30 minutes. The push rods for elevator and rudder were a bit on the long side but were easily removed, shortened and a new Z bend put in place. I am going to use this as my first EDF before it gets converted to a pusher and has FPV gear fitted.

This plane should never have been made.

In the same way as jets, ducted fans are only suitable for fast planes. On slow planes they become inefficient. The Dophin is a ducted fan on a very slow plane, and as such does not make much sense. A lot of whining noise, low speed, and a battery pack that is soon exhausted.

No aerobatic capability, due to the flat underside of the airfoil.

To make the aerodynamics even worse, instead of nicely tapered trailing edges on wings and stabilizers, the Dolphin wing has 7 mm thick, box-like trailing edges. As if the thing does not have enough drag already.

In an effort to improve the speed, I cut 22 cm of the end of each wing and also shortened up the horizontal stabilizer somewhat. Right after take-off, the impeller from the ducted fan unit flew off. Consequently the plane lost all power and crash-landed into the stony ground next to our airstrip. Not too much damage, could easily be repaired, except for the ducted fan unit which would probably have to be replaced.

However, I am not spending any more time or money on this plane - it is heading for the bin!

A plane with potential. Well written (by comparison) instructions. The plane even flys well... until the grossly out of balance EDF explodes from vibration.
I'll now have to buy a quality EDF to make it fly, luckily when the EDF self destructed, after during the 3rd flight, the parts all stayed in the housing and none wee thrown free.

Good, smooth, hard foam quality plus a nice little motor in a compact body, but let down by an absolutely dreadful fan - seriously out of balance & scraping against the outer casing. Overall it has the potential to be a decent edf model but check all components before flight as they may be loose or faulty. The supplied aileron Y-lead was a dud on mine. Remove & reglue the landing gear mounts before flight.

Perfect beginner EDF. I went from a bixler 2 (First RC plane) to this and it just fly beautifully. it has made me fall in love with EDF. Awesome flight envelope.

Great little plane that you can just put in the boot of a small car & fly almost anywhere. So easy to fly & does what its told. The only thing i found was that the motor only lasted a couple of hours before it burnt out,so a pusher motor was fitted & this has made it very reliable with enough power for aerobatics & long flight times.

I bought this plane to give a try to FPF with an EDF plane. I tested it today (1st time i tryed an EDF plane), and this plane is great for FPV ! I used a 2Ah 45C bat, 500mA for video, 400mw 1.3G. It's not very powerfull, but far enough for FPV. It's very stable, very easy to control and it flies splendidly well. I like it !

I bought this model a while ago but have only just been able to start using it due to a problem with battery connecters, HK have shown a list of batteries available to buy with this model but make sure if you are buying either of said batteries check that you have an adapter to convert the standard red block connection on the models speed controller to the yellow connection on the battery. they are very cheap and easy to get from HK themselves.
However, this model is a joy to be honest, you can use the large over wing format to simply glide the model through the air with minimal thrust or go all out and use the power provided by the fan unit to rule the skies. I have had a few incidents with this model yet it has always stayed in one piece and taken the hit. Since growing in confidence with this model I have been able to perform most 3D aerobatics and even had it fly knife edge along the ground it really is a model for beginners all the way up to pros.
