We've had the Doctor in again following an outbreak of shiny metal fever here at HobbyKing! A healthy dose of excitement into our EDF range was his suggestion, and since then the good Dr. has been burning the midnight oil at the lab to bring even more high performance, easy to use EDF systems to the masses with the introduction of his latest creations; the lightweight, chrome electroplated plastic range of multi bladed fan units with built-in "woosh" factor!

The new Dr. Mad Thrust EDF chrome plated series are pre-assembled, making them  simple and easy to fit, no unit assembly is required. As well as high power, these fans have excellent cooling thanks to the open ended outrunner casing. This high quality, powerful little fan is a great way to upgrade your mini EDF jet to a speeding missile, adding a touch of sparkle at the same time!

I got this EDF along with the recommended Dr Mad 40 amp ESC and programming card and it screems on a 3 cell lipo pack drawing about 260 watts and generating a pound of thrust measured while hold it on a digital bathroom scale and pointing it downwards ... yeah this this is a screemer. Makes a nice portable snow blower too. Operating it with a servo tester works great after I did the throttle calibration ... power up with full throttle then wait for the beeps then zero throttle and more beeps and you are set to go!

Bought this to upgrade my 50mm hobbyking Sabre. It now goes like a missile with almost unlimitted verticle. Gave over 500 wats & pulled max 35 amps but settled down to 32 amps. Used it with a 40 amp Dr mad thrust ESC which is a very good match. Only down side was I used 4 cell Turnigy 1000 mah 45 - 90 C which gave good performance but just under 2 mins of mainly full throttle flight, will have to learn to moderate the left stick !
