The Dr. Mad Thrust EDF series are pre-assembled and dynamically balanced making them easy to fit, with no unit assembly required. As well as high power, these fans have excellent cooling and run so smoothly, the sound is amazing. There is also no housing distortion unlike plastic fans. This high quality, powerful fan is a great way to upgrade your 68mm EDF jet to a speeding missile in around an hour!

These were my first experience with Dr Mad Thrust products, I have to say that having used stock EDF's and gone on to use Mercury units, these are like a giant leap backwards to the sort of units you get stock in the cheapest of models. One unit runs well enough though I can only get 1.7 KG from it but the second,(counter rotating) unit was so far off balance that when I test ran it there were sparks comming out of the motor. Ran with no blade and still hopelessly off balance. Once the motor had been balanced the fan was also not servicable so had to be balanced before use. If you are not skillful with vibration sensors and use of epoxy to balance fans and motors I have to tell you that these are definately not for you. If you are experienced in this area I would guess that like me your time is worth more than what you will have to invest to get these sorted. I will certainly not be taking the MAD option again.
