Dr Mad Thrust Machine Gun Effect LED Unit - Pair of bright red LED's with long 800mm power leads (ideal for wing mounting on most models) that flash rapidly for that machine gun effect, adding a new scale dimension to your warbird or jet!
2 x LED with 800mm Leads
1 x PCB Controller
Input Voltage: 5v~7.4v
PCB Dimensions: 40mmx19mmx4mm
Weight Total: 12g
Please Note: This unit requires an Aux Channel Controlled Power On/Off Switch, we recomend the Dr Mad Thrust 3A or 5A BEC with in-built power switch (see related items below).
The only thing that would have made these better was if they had a more white colored light, the red is nice and bright though.nice scale gun leds for dr mad machine gun moduel effectThis just flashes NON-STOP & requires other parts to turn on/off. Real missed opportunity here. Not recommendedVery bright and easily seen.REQUIRES A Rx CONTROLLED SWITCH FOR OPERATION (I used PRODUCT ID: 9107000266-0)
Looks great on my 1700mm P-51. I have it linked to the machine gun sound unit via a Y-Lead. Only 1 LED per side but very easy to make up multiple units if required using simple soldering (or servo connectors if you have the kit). The price is tow and the concept is brilliant. "Lost in EXECUTION" is my opinion. A lot of work to install and the result is EHHH. More of a novelty than a "scale accessory". The lights should be brighter and be set in clear hard plastic cylinders for a "barrel effect". I'd spend more for a better product-I bought 3 of these and only installed one as its almost pathetic looking. Very sad-it could have been awesome. for about $5 bucks more.Does what it says 2 amber lights flash to simulate the firing of the guns. For those who are not sure the lights flash as soon as power is applied. there is no direct on of switching built into the unit.standard flash unit, does not connect to the dr mad trust sound module and as a result the sound and flashes are not synchronized, led's are 5mm and very bright but give of a red light, this should be orange.
due to the failure to synchronize the rating goes down, the price makes it attractive however
with some effort 2 leds per channel can be hooked up for a total of 4 total leds without blowing the circuit board (tested 10 minutes long, then it drove me nuts) smaller leds can replace the large 5mm ones (watch that they are the same voltage)
it would be nice if this unit could be directly hooked to the dr mad machine gun sound module but sadly.. nope.
I use the sound unit in 3 model warships, the flash systems where supposed to go in the same models but due to the random flash it would look strange...............................................................I loved the option for planes so I had to buy and put the on my Vintage RC car from Radio Shack. Works great.
