I have a set installed in an OV-10 and they have a nice scale-like appearance for that plane. They work ok and the overload protection works ok. The nose gear steering has a little slop in it so you will want to keep everything else in you nose gear linkage tight. Unfortunately, the plastic mounting tabs are fairly fragile and easily broken. sonicelectric.com has metal sells plates for about $23 per gear as well as many other spare parts. The sonic electric side plates are nicely made and fit well but are somewhat tricky to install with all the gears and shafts that you need to line up. The hole spacing of the metal mounting tabs is slightly wider that the plastic too. I think the Hobby King set would be a better value with the metal side plates at a slightly higher price.

Not good at all. These retracts are ment to lift up to 3.6 Kg. I have installed them at an EDF Mirage weighting only 2.4kg and at the very first landing (which was an extra smooth one) the nose wheel is uncotrolable, turning by itself left and right at least 2cm without any rudder input. Very unhappy with the retracts

Nice and very well made retracts but they are BIG. Have had mine laying for a year now with no suitable plane to mount them in. The measurements given here are rediculous. For instance "Oleo Length (Pin to axle): Mains-110mm, Front-90mm". Who wants to know the distance to Pin? What pin? THey mean the pin coming out of the retract servo. What you need to know is distance from wheel axle to the pivoting point on the retract servo and this is a hefty 150 mm so with the wing wheel diameter of 50 mm, the distance to ground is 175 mm. And the servo is big or 25 mm deep, 27 mm wide and 46 mm long. And I wonder why you need 6V to 7.4 V to drive these? Why not 4.8V?? It's kind of silly as I normally use 4.8V for all other servos so now I will need a separate BEC. I give only 4 crowns because of poor specifications from HK

I received mine last week. The retracts works fine, but...
1) the plastic chasing is not good quality. Mine holes for the scres crecked by small preasure on them. I have a lot of wories about hard landing. Thats why i install it a little bit may way with a lot of epoxy glue and some wood securisation :o(
2) The wheels! OMG...i have never seen such soft wheels. I have to change them as my 4,5 kg plane (SAVEX L-39) is deforming them while standing.

I received mine a little while ago. I worked all last night to make a good mount for them in a plane. I just tried to run them. But nothing happens. I have hooked them up as I should. I tried to put one retract straight in the receiver, and the retract opened. But now I can't get it closed. Anybody know what the problem is???

Picked up from post today, very impressed! lovely quality, smooth slow scale operation with over center locking arm. Will go in an own designed Parnavia Tornado along with two of the same manufactures ducted fans, also of the same high quality of manufacturer. would like to see the metal side plates option available though.
