Once again Durafly has done an outstanding job in reproducing this iconic aircraft. Incorporating the sleek lines of the full-sized aircraft, adding amazing scale detail and delivering a superb finish, Durafly has spared nothing in bringing you the best rendition of a Mk24 Spitfire in this size. This model is painted in 80 Squadron markings whos Spitfire Mk24's were based in Hong Kong until 1952. Some Spitfires were then transferred to the Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force who used them until 1955. This updated model comes with ball link connectors on all control surfaces and uprated 580KV motor, 45A ESC and 5-bladed propeller for superior performance.

The MK24 was fastest and the most powerful variant of the Supermarine Spitfire ever made! It saw service with the RAF from 1946 to 1955 and with the new Rolls Royce Griffon motor, it was one of the most advanced piston-engined aircraft of its time.  Capable of speeds in excess of 450mph and with the ability to reach 30,000 ft in only eight minutes, the Mk24 certainly carried on the proud heritage of R J Mitchell's prototype.

With servoless electric retracts, split flaps, navigation lights as well as an authentic colour scheme, it will certainly satisfy the scale afficiados and as for flying, Durafly’s powerful outrunner motor coupled with the new Aerostar 45amp ESC ensures that the MK24 Spitfire is capable of 'straight up' vertical performance on 4S but still can provide great scale performance. The Mk24 inspires confidence in flight and will certainly wow spectators as only a Spitfire can and on the ground it’s large rudder and steerable tailwheel have been designed to improve handling and its forward raked main gear makes takeoffs and landings far easier and more scale like.

Durafly has certainly ticked all the boxes with this version of the renown Mk24 Spitfire and added yet another thoroughbred to it's growing stable of warbirds.

Features:
• Fantastic Scale Detail
• The only Mk24 Spitfire available in this size
• Ball Links on all controls
• Superior 580KV motor and 45A ESC
• 5 Blade Propeller
• Quality Construction & Finish

... I'm excited by this purchase. This is my first PNP plane. I don't consider myself a good model builder - never been great with my hands so I opted for a PNP to avoid getting myself into trouble.
This is my first PNP plane. I have purchased a BNF before (X Vert) - which was very simple to setup. I was expecting the same with this, but there's a little more work involved. Being non-skilled it took me an afternoon plus another evening. Things like getting the control horns on and pushrods, to take them off again because I didn't line them up first, etc. Simple stuff I'm sure most people would be more aware of.
There is some gluing involved - although they are for parts that may not be considered mandatory. (The air RAM, the guns on the front of the wings, and the antenna at the back - so all aesthetic, not compulsory I guess).
It came well packed. I did have some minor issues:.
- One of the flap servo's was more rear than the other - so I had a bit of tweaking to do to get them to line up with the same control inputs.
- One of the four screw holes for the wings to screw on was out of line. I had to drill another hole where it should have been.
- Some tape was forward / over the air ram mounts which when placed and slid forward cause the foam to crumple slightly. It's not going to be an issue and barely noticeable.
Very minor issues that are easily addressed (even for a novice like me).
I'm wondering about room inside for my receiver and it's antenna's. I would have liked a little more room to play with but will see how it goes. I'm not sure if anyone is running a satellite and if so I'd like to know how / where / etc they place it.
All in all I'm very happy with this model. Looks brilliant. Can't wait to fly it! My most expensive purchase todate. Hopefully it gives me many hours of enjoyment in the sky.

Its my first PNF plane and i like it much. It is stable, easy to take off and to land, flaps are really helpful, have crashed it two times already cause of my fault but it very simple to glue parts together. Stock ESC was causing syncro lost, but Live Chat specialist have fixed this problem and new ESC going to me right now, meanwhile i put H-king 50 ESC and it fits well. And in the end it looks awesome, one the land and in the air.

This model rocks, I own the Version1 also
be careful with the CG mine was a little tail heavy with the listed cg
I need a new prop shaft for this plane, Hobbyking does not stock this part and the only suggestion they had was to buy a new motor.
If you have a source for a alternative from another plane, please post it here

Firstly let me say that I had the original Durafly Spitfire and since lost it so I can report that this spitfire is far better.
UNBOXING
After a speedy delivery I opened the box and the plane was in perfect condition. All parts were still in place and intact and so well packed, just as the packer had placed them.
I carefully removed the tape and plastic covers and admired the Finish, Colour Scheme and Improvements over the first model. There was not a mark or fault anywhere except for a tiny stray white paint mark easily covered with a dot of paint.
All wires were plainly labelled and looked very tidy.
I can see that assembly will be easy and fast with the new improvements.
10 out of 10 for this section.
I plan to write on the ASSEMBLY and FLYING later on.
Well done HobbyKing :) :)
