Once again Durafly has done an outstanding job in reproducing this iconic aircraft. Incorporating the sleek lines of the full-sized aircraft, adding amazing scale detail, and delivering a superb finish, Durafly has spared nothing in bringing you the best rendition of an Mk24 Spitfire in this size. This model is painted in 80th Squadron markings whose Spitfire Mk24s were based in Hong Kong until 1952. Some Spitfires were then transferred to the Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force that used them until 1955. This updated model comes with ball link connectors on all control surfaces and uprated 580KV motor, 45A ESC, and 5-bladed propeller for superior performance.

The MK24 was the fastest and the most powerful variant of the Supermarine Spitfire ever made! It saw service with the RAF from 1946 to 1955 and with the new Rolls Royce Griffon motor, it was one of the most advanced piston-engined aircraft of its time.  Capable of speeds in excess of 450mph and with the ability to reach 30,000 ft in only 8 minutes, the Mk24 certainly carried on the proud heritage of RJ Mitchell's prototype.

With servoless electric retracts, split flaps, navigation lights as well as an authentic color scheme, it will certainly satisfy the scale aficionados and as for flying, Durafly’s powerful outrunner motor coupled with the new Aerostar 45amp ESC ensures that the MK24 Spitfire is capable of "straight-up" vertical performance on 4S but still can provide great scale performance. The Mk24 inspires confidence in flight and will certainly wow spectators as only a Spitfire can and on the ground it’s the large rudder and steerable tailwheel have been designed to improve handling and its forward raked main gear makes takeoffs and landings far easier and more scale-like.

Durafly has certainly checked all the boxes with this version of the renown Mk24 Spitfire and added yet another thoroughbred to it's growing stable of warbirds.

Durable Warbird!

Aug 25, 2020

Durable foam model that can handle some heavy landings/crashes - just make sure you test the retracts after each landing to ensure they aren't bent and retract 100% into the wings. Cut an angle into the gear doors to prevent catching on grass or remove doors completely (unscrew).
Stable flyer. Extremely responsive when under high throttle - recommend setting dual rates for the first flight (max 60% of manual - then increase if you need more throw).
Good low speed stability. I added a GPS/stabiliser (ZOHD Kopilot) for extra stability at low speed, or for when I lose orientation/control (camo against tree background).
Batts (5-7mins - try 4mins on maiden)):
4S 2200mAH or
3S 2700-2800mAH (Needs more throttle for cruise, but more fuel in the tank so lasts roughly the same).

Arrived very fast and undamaged

Jun 25, 2020

Ordered the Spitfire Mk24 V2 on 06/22/2020 with a nice
10% off coupon plus another buck using points. The plane arrived 06/24/2020 in great shape, double boxed nicely. There was a little crinkle on the corner of the inner box but zero damage to the model, everything intact and as described. Very beautiful model, really living room worthy just on looks alone. Can’t wait to fly her!

Be nice to know paint number

Jul 20, 2019

I have yet to truly fly it. It seems under powered as does every store bought plane.
Right off I crashed it braking nose. It glued back.nice. but now I want to paint the glued areas and I have no idea what the colors are and they are not listed in instructions.
Anyone know the paint numbers.

Absolutely wonderful!

Jun 10, 2019

Durafly Spitfire Mk 24 V2 is a real beauty. Easy to put together and with very good performance. The five-blade propeller provides tremendous power even though it requires some work to balance it.
The first start with the Mk24 didn't go so well, as I was flying from a grass field. The cover plates on the wheels are sharp at the leading edge and stuck to the vegetation. The plates are, however, easy to unscrew, and then the grass substrate can handle well. I have now rounded the front edge of the cover plates, which minimizes the problem. Do not hesitate with the throttle so go well. Once in the air, it is a real pilot. Responsive and has very good speed, while it can only slide forward calmly and quietly. A nice machine with a lot of potential. Highly recommend it.

Durafly 1100mm Spitfire

Jun 03, 2019

Purchased this spit to have an easy to prepare Electric model. I have two 100cm petrol Spits, but they are a fuss to get onto the runway. The HK Spit is a dream. Although considerably smaller, it flys beautifully - after careful trimming -, tracks through a turn as if 'on rails' and performs all aerobatic maneuvers faultlessly. The camouflage works well but is sometimes difficult to determine the aspect of the Spit in cloudy conditions. just be a little careful. One small criticism is the poor quality of the 'wire' used in the undercarriage. Anything but a "creaming it on" landing will result in the wheels bending back. The wheels are easily bent back, but it's a bit of a nuisance. Over all though, a wonderful model, beautifully made and a true representation of an incredible British fighting flying machine.
