The DH Vampire was the 2nd jet to enter service with the RAF and was unusual for the time in that it was powered by a single jet engine, this allowed for a small and lightweight fighter aircraft, to maximise efficiency the jet pipe was kept short, hence the distinctive twin boom tail, all of these factors helped the Vampire to become the first aircraft in RAF service to exceed 500mph. De Havilland employed some techniques from the construction of the famous Mosquito, wood was therefore used in the construction of this classic jet! The Vampire broke several records in it's time and was the first jet aircraft to land on a carrier as well as being the first jet to complete a Trans-Atlantic flight, the Vampire became a huge success and served with many air forces around the world.

The Durafly® ™ Vampire is made from tough EPO foam and is superbly finished with waterslide decals. As well as looking the part, it is easy to assemble, this ARF version is ideal for those wanting a hand-launch model, the kit even comes with 2 retract blanking plugs to eliminate any ugly holes in the wing, substantial undercarriage leg's are also supplied for either making fixed under-carriage or for using with your own retracts. The comprehensive hardware kit also includes an excellent 70mm Fan unit that allows you to choose your own motor & ESC.

Jet's are about performance and the Durafly® ™ Vampire will not disappoint with the right set up it, it also has to be one of the easiest scale jet's to hand-launch and as it is also almost impossible to stall with an amazing off-power glide, it is the perfect "belly land" EDF jet. There is no doubt, the Durafly® ™ Vampire offers an amazing combination for a scale jet of practicality, price and quality, with it's classic looks, it will stand out at any airfield, ideal for aspiring jet jockeys, a must for any jet fan!

Great first Jet

I did not install any landing gear, just belly land on grass. Very solid flyer. Glides good, handles easy. Good noise with the 2800kv motor. Need to reinforce the booms with 3 mm carbon rods on underside. Also, before gluing the wings in and anything else, make sure to sand off the paint, or they will come off.

My favorite EDF. Flies fast and just feels good, like it is locked in! I don't use the landing gear and belly land on grass. Reinforcement of rear struts required. 4s 3300 35-50 battery gives about 7 minutes of fast flying time. I like to take it high and glide it down no throttle to extend flying time. Sound of low flyby's is awesome. Well, what are you waiting for! Best Value EDF out there!

Great kit. Aircraft is built very precise and comes in at good condition, nicely packed as usual with durafly. Flying is a fun with a 70mm Wemotec Impeller on 4S. Looks nice in the air and can be started out of hand easilsy.

Cracking value aircraft, bought to replace my last one that had an unfortunate meeting with a tree. This one flys just as well. I stiffen up the booms with some 3mm carbon tube, have had none of the high speed problems some have encountered

Nice Plane, works great with the Dr.MAd Trust motor and the 10 blade unit :) also bought an 85 amps ESC, good hobbyjet with speed 140kphplus ;)

Came today double boxed perfect condition, the manual is for the pnf? no mention how to fit the wheels supplied or servo's etc, The wheels need the fittings/retracts to be able to be used, also the front wheel has no fittings for that to be mounted either, In my case I will be converting this to a pusher not a jet, and also belly landing so the wheel problems won't concern me, I think this is really a crash repair kit where you already have some landing gear piece's, will update this after assembly, but to be fair it wont be as designed when I've fitted a pusher prop......4 stars for landing gear pieces missing...

fliegt mit cs 10 blade bei 4s und 50 a regler mit Turnigy L2855-2800 EDF Outrunner (630w) ohne fahrwerk alle blichen jet figuren. angenehmer sound des impellers. schwerpunkt ca 2 cm nach vor verlegen. segelt ohne schub langsam zur landung. unbedingt ausleger, hhenleitwerk und flgel mit carbonrohren verstrken. sehr spaiger oldtimer

Uno dei pochi modelli che mi ha pienamente soddisfatto da quando faccio modellismo.
Ho acquistato su HK anche il gruppo ventola in alluminio completo di motore da 4000kv.
Completa il set un regolatore YEP 100 e la batteria Zippy Compact 3300mhA da 35C.
1138gr in odv, senza carrello perch lo lancio a mano. Il modello ha un suono "corposo"
un' ottima velocit e salite verticali difficili da replicare con ventole di 110cm di AA!
In atterraggio molto pi vicino ad un aliante che ad un caccia.
Se lo rompo....lo ricompro !Buoni voli.
