The DH.110 Sea Vixen was an all weather fighter/ground attack aircraft with a very distinctive and unusual cockpit arrangement, the pilot's cockpit being offset and the observer sitting in the infamous "coal hole" which was virtually blacked out and very cramped. The design actually dates back to the 1940's, which is pretty remarkable considering the fact that the DH.110 prototype was the first two seat aircraft to achieve supersonic flight. However, once re-designed for carrier landings, the new thick wing prevented the Sea Vixen from achieving supersonic flight despite the huge amount of power from the twin Rolls Royce engines.

The Sea Vixen is made from tough EPO foam and is beautifully finished with waterslide decals. As well as looking the part, it is easy to assemble and setup. Being Plug N Fly, the EDF unit, ESC, UBEC and servos are all pre-installed. The DH.110 is pre-fitted with superb, scale-slow servoless retracts featuring a metal trunnion and a very positive lock. This combined with the beefy struts and large wheels make this jet perfect for almost any field!

Jets are about performance and the Durafly® ™ Sea Vixen is no exception. It handles superbly, tracks well, offers a nice turn of speed at WOT and has excellent slow flight capability thanks to the massive amount of wing area. When you combine this performance with the real presence and ultra-scale detail, the end result is a brilliant model that will satisfy jet enthusiasts and scale pilots alike. The DH.110 even comes complete with optional high-detail drop tanks and ordnance.

Fast, stable, reliable, easy to fly and dripping in scale details, the Durafly® ™ Sea Vixen will be a real show stopper at any airfield!

Good news!! Remaidened the Vixen today with a 40c 2650 4-cell Zippy lipo and, while not a speed demon, the plane was very acceptable. I don't know if the nano-tech battery I used for the first flight was faulty as all cells showed normal. But, at least, I now have a decent flyer. However, I think I will not replace the ordinance package to keep drag to a minimum.

The plane looks great and goes together well. I was excited to fly it as the video shows it zipping around nicely. HOWEVER, using a newer Turnigy nano-tech 4-cell 3300ma as recommended, it barely got in the air and wallowed badly. There was no power at all to even attempt to return to the runway and it pancaked in on the access road. Fortunately only the ordinance suffered major damage and I have removed it. I will attempt to remaiden soon with a 40c Zippy 4-cell 2650ma. Got my fingers crossed.

Just staring to get into EDFs I choose this bird as my first, I love cold war jets and this being so unique and so rare that there is only one flying in the world It was a must for my RC Hanger. Big surface area on the wing makes this docile and slow speeds but move that throttle up and it come alive. The scale detail is amazing. Be aware that this aircraft needs a bit of runway on grass to get up to speed for rotation, I have opted to install a new EDF unit from DR Mad Thrust to give this bird the power she really deserves. Although the standard power will still make this aircraft have good characteristics and a pleasant flying aircraft. I rate this highly along with the Vampire.

very easy to assemble and fly practically lands itself as just glides in without power and does not tip stall when slowing down, have upgraded the fan to a higher thrust 70mm unit but still running a 4s 3300mah as not alot of room found it tracks alot better with the added pace just means a slightly shorter run but well worth it only other upgrade i did was remove the servos and put in better metal geared prior to assembling, dont know what the stock ones are like but i had them sitting there so why not....all in all great to fly and looks good in the air

Great model, quick to build, managed to squeeze a 3.85Ah turnigy nanotect battery in. Only had 2 flights but looks and sounds great, a little power hungry so I'm only getting about 10min flight, maybe some of the mods might help. I'd recommend this model toanyone.

This is an easy model to build and fly, the manual C of G is spot on I did have to move the battery quite far forward though (3300mAh 4S nano-tech) it will take off from grass (kids football field) however it takes some distance so dont be tempted to give it early up elevator, let it gain speed or youll have a bounce take off on your hands. I have done a few belly landing on grass but the plane was getting a little damaged so started using the landing gear and it handled it really well, the landing gear is rock solid. Ive had launched a few time, it take off but again let it gain speed before yanking on the elevator. Overall its a nice plane a little more power would be nice to get it off the ground/hand a little faster however this wouldnt be a problem if I was take off from concrete.

A very nice model and a good flier too. I used a 4000 mAh turnigy 40c. I can fly more than 4 mins. Sounds great when it passes by. It will roll nice and can do big loops. I love the wide stance main landing gears. Ground handling is awesome!
4 clicks up to trim elevator when rocket pods, missles and tanks are installed. I used magnets so I can attach and remove them. Here is a short flight video from take to landing.

Buy this EDF. I put the ordinance on with magnets. I leave the ordinance on for people. When I'm alone I take it off and tear up the sky. Really a great edf for a first time edf pilot. I also put an 8 blade fan in. No need to change anything else. The ESC can handle it. It went together east. This is only about the only edf I have nothing bad to say about. Buy it and blow people's minds. It's beauti in the sky, and landings are as easy as a warm liner.
