Durafly® ™ once again set the standard with this beautiful Mk 24 Spitfire, no Warbird collection could be complete without this most iconic of fighters, the Spitfire was the only allied fighter to be in service from pre to post WW2, this final version of RJ Mitchell's masterpiece was a testament to the brilliance of his design. The Mk 24's graceful yet aggressive lines make it one of the most handsome fighters ever built and there can be no doubt, Durafly® ™ have captured the very essence of the ultimate Spitfire!

As well as looking fantastic, this Spitfire is plug and fly, meaning very little assembly work is needed. The powerful outrunner motor, ESC, navigation lights, servoless electric retracts, split flaps & servos are all pre-installed leaving you with little to do, in fact you could easily be in the air in less than half an hour! At 1100mm wing span, the Spitfire is easy to transport, helped by it's easily removable wing and as it uses the ever-green 2200mAh 3s Lipoly battery, the Spit is as practical and cheap to run as the rest of the Durafly® ™ range. The modular design of the Spitfire also means parts are easy and fast to replace in the case of the worst happening, so your pride and joy can look pristine at all times!

We have flown this superb Spitfire extensively during testing and it will not disappoint, it is easy to fly but is so realistic and capable that it will satisfy the most seasoned warbird pilot. The proper split flaps, which are operated by "slow" servos offer rock solid low speed confidence without a hint of ballooning or pitch change when deployed. Spitfires have a reputation for being prone to ground handling difficulties at times but not this Spitfire! The combination of raked forward, yet scale looking & pre-installed retracts, effective tailwheel steering and generous size scale rudder make this Spitfire amazingly well behaved on the ground. This is the best Durafly® ™ Warbird yet, it is easy to build and fly yet offers superbly realistic speed, climb rate & aerobatic performance while being practical yet charismatic, it is a true classic!

*Note: Some customers may find the CG indicated at 120mm from the L/E in the supplied instruction manual. This is a printing error that has since been corrected. The actual CG being approximately 70mm from the L/E. An amended instruction manual can also be downloaded from the "Files" tab below.

Excellent product! and rock solid, i can confirm: in case of very hard landings (due to bad field) the blades don't break and more important the gear legs bend but don't break.
The take off can be very short. In the air, it's not speedy with a 3S battery (around 8 good minutes with a 2200mAh), simple to fly especially for the landing: It comes very slowly thanks to the big blades and flaps.

Great plane, i flew it once without a problem off of hot mix tarmac! flies like it is on rails
however i was caught out by the old spitfire tim stall and did a reasonably low pass and went to bank into a slight turn and she fell from the sky :( other than my screw up i absolutely love the model! One issue is that the paint/coating seems to peel off easily, a number of bits came off during construction

I purchased this model about about a year ago and it now hangs in my lounge room when I am not flying it because it looks great. I flies like a dream, is very aerobatic and does not tip stall. I am quite happy with power system as it has limited vertical which to my mind is more than scale. I have tried various 2 bladed props on it as recommended by other reviews and discussion but have found the stock 4 blade gives the best performance and I have not found it fragile in several nose overs on grass (some discussion indicated it was very fragile). The only prop I have broken was in a horror when I dove it into the ground not far off vertical which obviously smashed the prop and broke the fuselage into three pieces. The wing was fine and even the spinnerand prop mount is still in service. I glued the fuse back together (a replacement is only $25 AUS but postage is around $130 which is a bit prohibitive) and while it is not pristine it still flies as well as it did (almost). It is great looking and performing model and one of my faves.

Very good looking plane and plenty of fun in the air.
This Spitfire its my second aeromodel, being my first low wing model. I had a Cessna 182 previoulsy and although the Spitfire its a low wing, I can handle it without any major problem. Its not for zero experienced pilots, but for sure it can be your first Low Wing.

Once in the Air you will certainlly note that this model can be a little nervous until you have it properlly trimmed. Use the functions of your Radio system to decrease Flight controls amplitude (i.e AILERONS EPA 50pcnt, etc) and I'm sure things will get better. It performs well on the ground too (a surprise for me). After some turns ans low pass runs, you will enjoy fly this model as you never did, for sure.

5 Star looking model.
5 Star Flying Feel sensation.
4 Star Durafly quality (Not 5 star because servos could be embodied somehow, to avoid damage).
3/4 Star Rate price/Product (expensive spare parts for example).
Recommended to intermidiate Pilots.

Great plane with great details!

Love to see it in the air although it could be bigger.

Not for beginners.

Die Lackierung und die Details sind sehr hochwertig gemacht. Der Motor auch luft sehr sauber. Der Motorsturz ist schon Vorgefertigt. Bein erstflug sollten sie Querruderausschlge nicht zu stark sein.

I have just received mine today, Its a lovely looking model... It's got the same power setup as the "old crow p51" I ran that on a 14.8v 2250mah 65-130c Lipo.
The one thing about this model that's let it down is the decals on the tail of the fuselage... The lettering is overlapping, an one side should be the other way round!? "Ultra high level of scale detail" i don't think so, this is the same case with the HK Lancaster V2 apart from the overlapping...
Apart from that a nice looking model... Looks like a lovely model to fly

Nice looking plane, something different for once. Installed everything in just a couple of hours, adjusted centering/throws mechanically and CG came out fine with a $12 HP 2200 30C battery (I have a box full of those).

First flight trimmed her out, elevator servo slowed down and then failed entirely on landing. Later at home replaced the "no name servo" with a more reliable micro servo I had around.

Went back next day, rudder servo failed after first flight. Straightened the rudder and took off into the wind with nor rudder. Flew nicely, had to trim her out a bit again.

Preparing for the third flight (w/o rudder again) right aileron servo quit.

Went home and replaced rudder and right aileron servos (fms brand) with some better ones I had lying around. Now ready for 4-th flight...

So: Nice Plane, Utterly Miserable Servo Quality (or quality control).

This is a no brainer, if you dont have this spitfire in your life, get it. The build quality is amazing, the scale is perfect.
Mine had an issue with achieving the recommended throw for the rudder, so ground control wasn't very good, but a simple fix and now mine has the full 20 mm each way the manual suggests, which helps alot with steering.
Scale detail is great, even down to the air scoop under the motor actually scopes air and runs it over the esc. I'm going to brave and say, there is no better spitfire for the money.
