    Product Description

    -Optimized operating software
    When charging or discharging, the BC8 offers an AUTO function that sets the feeding current or the cell count of the Lithium battery automatically.  For Lithium batteries, this can prevent an over-charging situation which can lead to an explosion should the user not set the program correctly. Every program in the unit is programmed with safety monitoring to validate the user information to ensure maximum safety. These parameters can be set by the user.

    -High-power and high-performance circuit
    The BC8 employs a circuit that has maximum output power of 150W. As a result, the BC8 can charge or discharge up to 27 cells of NiCd/NiMH and 8 series of Lithium batteries with maximum current of 7.0A.

    -Individual voltage balancer for Lithium batteries inside
    Built into the BC8 is an individual-cell-voltage balancer. No external balancer is needed when charging Lithium batteries (LiIo/LiPo/LiFe) for balance charging. Below if the cell connection diagram. Please use the above pull down menu to select your included Balance Board.

    -Balance individual cells on discharge
    The BC8 also can monitor and balance individual cells of the Lithium battery pack during the discharge process, as well as the charge process. If the voltage of any one cell varies abnormally, the process will be stopped with the error message.

    -Accept various types of Lithium battery
    BC8 can accept three types of Lithium batteries - LiIo, LiPo and LiFe. They have different characteristics by their chemistry, such as minimum, maximum, and charge termination voltages.

    -Lithium battery Fast and Storage mode
    The BC8 offers additional Lithium programming. Fast charge reduces the charging time of the Lithium battery and the Storage mode controls the final voltage of the battery to be suit for long time storage.

    -Data store/load
    10 data of different batteries programs can be stored and retrieved. These data files can be recetrived at any time you need them without reprogramming.

    -Cyclic charging/discharging
    The BC8 can perform 1 to 5 cycles of charge>discharge or discharge>charge for battery break in/refreshing and balancing.

    -PC based analysis using USB communication
    For the advanced user, the BC8 INCLUDES a PC based program that can analyze the characteristic of the battery through the computers USB port. The software will graph voltage, current, capacity and temperature curves. It also shows the individual voltages of each cell in the Lithium battery pack.

    -Back-light LCD screen
    You can adjust the brightness of LCD display

    -Robust outer aluminum case
    High-quality aluminum case is durable and very efficient to cool out the internal heat

    Excellent charger! I use it with all my packs, ranging from 3S 2170mAh up to 6S 3200mAh. When at the field I sometimes charge my 6S packs at 2C, which gives me a fully charged pack in 25 minutes! This charger balances really well (I've used a professional grade voltmeter to check the individual cell voltages after balancing). Price at Hobbycity is the lowest awailable for this charger (to my knowledge).

    The Charger is excellent in quality of the product & it's functionality. The e-Station chargers are the original "Bantam" chargers on which all of the other chargers are based.

    It is superior, but you do certainly pay for the quality, & I was prepared to do so.

    BUT, a problem that I cannot believe others have not mentioned.

    If you want to use Lipo charge in "Balance Mode" (ie not just through the main battery [Deans] connector), YOU CANNOT USE THE CHARGER AS SUPPLIED.

    When bought elsewhere, the is always the option of selecting you "Free Adaptor" for your battery type.

    In the case of HC, as all Lipos have the JST-XH balance connector (OK, Polyquest have their own)THE ADAPTOR SHOULD BE INCLUDED!!!

    So it is sitting there unused for Lipo. I eventually found that HC do list the adaptor, but it is not in stock & no date for arrival.

    Have ordered adaptor from the USA.

    So a 5 (6?) Star product, spoilt by not including the adaptor which is essential.

    BTW, NEVER charge Lipos without using balance mode. Even at correct(1C) charge, if there is a faulty cell, the charger (even the best) will continue to try to take the pack up to the correct voltage for the 7.4, 11.1, 14.8, pack)& the pack WILL CATCH FIRE. Sure you can charge withought using the balance plug perhaps 100 times (or perhaps 5 times), but one day you will unknowingly have a faulty cell & a LIPO FIRE!!

    An excellent charger. Recommended by an associate who has tried many different chargers for LiPo batteries. At 150Watts has the reserve power to ensure the battery takes a full charge which is not possible with the cheap low power units.

    Comes complete with quaility input and various output cables.

    Value for money.

    There is nothing that an e-Station charger can't handle. Most others out here are a decent copy of this charger as you'll notice the menus are the same and the specs.
