I have no problems with original EC3 males but getting the females to have the bullets pop in the case is hit or miss. I've been doing this long enough to abandon inefficient approaches. HK came up with a better idea and I'm thankful for it. I still have some original EC3s left - male and female - but I stopped using the female connectors - now I just use these ones. Much better and I haven't had any problem with them.

Incidentally, I recently had solder splash once inside my battery compartment from excessive back-to-back flying with high amp draw (well within ESC limit). The solder on the male (original) EC3 had melted and a wire had come loose. Plane came down fine in an unpowered glide. I put on a male HK EC3 and no more problems. 'Nuff said.

And as others have noticed, you do need to have a little soldering discipline to prevent the cases from melting. I melted one when I first started using these but after that its been smooth sailing. On the other hand, I still have solder overflow on my original EC3s which forces me to skimp on solder and makes me doubt the integrity of the connection. Between continuing problems on original EC3s and no problems on HK EC3s, its an easy choice.

Do not like these, the posts come pressed into the plug cases, soldering thick wire with appropriate heat will damage the case and you have to use shrink wrap to cover the connectors. Prefer original ec3 design.

Nice to solder! Cup is plenty deep enough to ensure a strong connection.

horrible, just horrible. liked the old style better as it you don't melt the plastic while soldering. not all of us are masters at soldering. I do have a job and a life. they do not require me to be best at soldering. HK give us the option of the other type of ec3 where the connectors were loose

They are a good price for those and they work prety well. But why those connectors go out?? WOuld been better to solder directly into the connector instead. Now I need to put heatshrink around.

Swapped over from running deans and have never looked back. A much safer way of connection I found. Also using the EC5's for my larger Amp models

I've ordered some LiPo batteries for my E-Flight Apprentice but all of them came with XT60 connector on them. So I bought these EC3 connectors to put on the batteries. But ended up soldering XT60 connector to the plane's ESC. I like XT60 than this EC3

As advertised but, I was hoping they were captivated like a Deans plug so, I might have to be very careful soldering these not to melt housing. connectors spin in plastic, kind funky.

These don't seem to fit into the older style EC3 plugs. The center brass portions are not the same size as the older versions. Therefore if you can't find the order styles you will be forced to change all of your connectors over to the new version style.

EC3s rock! The best for soldering and assembly. No other connector can compare.
