An excellent parkflyer sized EDF jet (EPO).
The T-38 Talon (EPO) jet comes 80% pre-built and comes with a powerful 30A brushless EDF system.
Because the T-38 is made from EPO, it is very resistant to breakage and will literally bounce in light crashes. The material is also easily repairable and quite flexible.
The downside to EPO is the lack of detail and rough surface.

An excellent plane for the novice EDF modeller. Excellent foam material EPO - very durable! However, we should pay special attention to the mounting of the wings. It can not withstand large overload!

Muy baja calidad.

Muy baja calidad de los materiales, el variador de velocidad me a llegado estropeado ademas del EDF que cuando lo prove con otro variador de velocidad se desintegro porque la parte que sujeta el motor estava partida de origen.

Very poor quality.

Very poor quality of materials, variable speed drive me to come in addition to the EDF spoiled when you prove that with another variable speed drive disintegrated because the part that holds the motor estava heading home.

Simply Amazing !!! Very well inyected and painted. I bought one few weeks ago... really I'm very impressed with it. I think that will be more powerfull with a 20 or 25c LiPo, but anyway the price is very, very good !!!

continued I cut it ope to get the ESC and checked, no obvious bad connections. Tried it again and it worked. put it back together and it didn't work again. I see someone said too much paste I'll check. Wiggled and got ti to work, tried to fly. Took off in about 75' started to climb and the rolled left, wouldn't turn right, then crashed into a fence. I think the wing came loose in flight and caused the ailerons to not respond. Will fix & fly agai

Very nice looking kit. Here is what I found. Mine came with 2 left wings and NO right wing. HobbyCity wanted me to return the whole thing at my expence. I contacted Freewing and they sent me a replacement wing set (now I have 3 left and 1 right) after 4 emails and about 2 months. I glued it together with 30 min epoxy (mine came with 5 min epoxy in the kit). Then I hooked up the battery and... NOTHING. the ESC wouldn't work.

Nice looking little model and well packaged and finished. Good value.

I found it a little slow at flight speed. Static Thrust on the ground was 400gm. To improve flight speed I made up two cone reducers for the exhaust from manilla cardboard with 5 degree taper to reduce the discharge area by 20%. Look like after burners. Take off is much the same because static thrust remained the same but top end speed is increased. Much better plane now.

Too Heavy(625gms). Lacks Powe

Apr 30, 2009

"RECIPE FOR A CRASH"

(A short story from an intermediate flyer)

The T38 looks great and NOTHING ELSE. The rest is bad news for this model. Here are some of the facts.

WEIGHT (AUW) :- 625 grams

THRUST:- 400 grams

Just these two measurements show that it is greatly under powered to reach the HIGH SPEED required for such a small wing surface area.

TAKE OFF ROLL:- 40 metres

RATE OF CLIMB :- 1 metre up over 10 metres of travel. (very poor)

GLIDE RATE:- No glide forward, just drop.

STALL RECOVERY:- Nil

LATERAL STABILITY:- Poor

In summary. It looks good. The disapointment comes in its lack of controlability mainly due to its limited low thrust.

VERY DISSAPOINTED. (Sorry for the bad news)

My repairs to ESC worked !

Apr 20, 2009

The ESC did not work so I decided to investigate. My repairs worked successfully. The problem: TOO MUCH HEAT SINK PASTE applied on manufacture caused 'TRACKING' between component legs. I hope the techs are noting this.

Here's what I did... 1. Removed the heat shrink and took note of the order of dismantling. 2. Cleaned the excess heat sink paste using methylated spirits and tooth brush. 3.After checking that the ESC worked (which it did) 4. Reassembled(with less paste)& re-covered with heat shrink. ESC works fine now. GOOD LUCK.

Summary: Too much heatsink paste caused components to short out with each other.
