HobbyKing is excited to be carrying the full range of the ESUN brand of 3D printing filament. ESUN is recognised as one of the world's leading and most innovative manufacturers for 3D additive printing.
The PLA, ABS, Flexible, Luminous and many other types of materials are perfect for whatever application you have in mind. ESUN has established their brand recognition through their quality products and consistency, the filaments have a stable melting point, good round shape and most importantly a 0.05mm uniform diameter tolerance for a consistent flow rate.
ABS is a fantastic plastic for mechanical real world use prints where a durable item is required. It has some give under stress making it perfect for multirotor frames and gears. ABS also has a higher melting point making it more suitable for some applications.
For printing with ABS it is recommended to have a heated print bed or Kapton Tape for proper bed adhesion. ABS can also have a slight odor when printing so a well ventilated room is recommended, please note that it has no odor when the print is finished.
ABS is slightly harder to get dialed in unlike PLA, but once set up the printing is consistent and the prints are truly real world useable. Other popular uses for this material are R/C spare parts, building blocks and toys for the kids.
3D printing is a fun and exciting hobby with a wide range of uses from prototyping parts to making toys for the kids. Picking the right filament for your application is very important. Please visit the ESUN web site for more information as well as the recommended settings for your printer.

Filament Material: ABS
Filament Diameter: 3mm
The quality of this filament is pretty good. The diameter measures on average 2.95, which is pretty good. I am using a generic 'J-Head' type extruder, and it extrudes very nicely. There is hardly any of the typical ABS odor while you are extruding.
Very good filament I would say, considering the price. HOWEVER, since this filament comes with a reel, the shipping weight is pretty high. For 8 dollars worth of filament, it was close to 15 dollars to ship this to the US. When you take those two prices into account, its actually cheaper to get locally ( in the us anyway) sourced ABS.
If they ever offered this in a plastic bag, and not a reel, I would buy more of it. I'm fine paying shipping for 1kg of filament, but having only .5kg of filament and another .5kg in the reel seems a bit wasteful.
The filament is great, hence my 5 crown quality rating
The price for shipping explains my 3 crown value rating
Overall I give it a 4, because even after the shipping price, this is pretty good filament.
