HobbyKing™ is excited to be carrying the full range of the ESUN brand of 3D printing filament. ESUN is recognised as one of the world's leading and most innovative manufacturers for 3D additive printing.

The PLA, ABS, Flexible, Luminous and many other types of materials are perfect for whatever application you have in mind. ESUN has established their brand recognition through their quality products and consistency, the filaments have a stable melting point, good round shape and most importantly a 0.05mm uniform diameter tolerance for a consistent flow rate.

PLA:
PLA has a lower melting point and prints easier than other materials. One of the most important features is that PLA is non-toxic, and even has a sweet smell when printing. PLA has a low shrinkage rate and it is very rigid with minimal flex. This material can print extremely high resolution models and is perfect for a wide range of uses. PLA is considered stronger than ABS but is more susceptible to cracking when flexing, impact or torsional loads so the mechanical needs of the print project has to be evaluated.

PLA has a huge range of vibrant colors and opacity for that perfect look whether it is artistic or utilitarian, in short a great material for 3D printing. PLA can be printed without the use of a heat bead, and can stick to glass or a PCB plate with a binder such as hairspray or white glue for a curl free print.

3D printing is a fun and exciting hobby with a wide range of uses from prototyping parts to making toys for the kids. Picking the right filament for your application is very important. Please visit the ESUN web site for more information as well as the recommended settings for your printer.

Not pure PLA

Jan 06, 2019

Sure wish I had read the previous reviews before I bought this. It stinks a little like ABS nothing like PLA. It also requires a higher temperature to bond the layers.Printed a 12hr part that delaminated into fine threads. It peels off the table before a model of some size (large) is finished unless you make special measure to make it stick. At one time after the extruder had heated up but before the print started, withdrew from the extruder by it's on tension. Shame the flashy brochure and fancy spool aren't matched by the quality of the filament.

Never again

Oct 08, 2018

I ordered this filament, to print some jack o lanterns in preparation for Halloween. I printed a small one, for testing, and everything went fine. After that I started a 10 h print by printing 2 big jack o lanterns. I woke in the middle of the night hearing click-click from the printer, the filament snapped. My jacks were decapitated, so I had to reprint the top parts, and attach them to the jacks.
I've read online articles about brittle filament, and thought, "hm, maybe I need to dry out the filament" so I baked it at 50C for a couple of hours. I loaded the presumably now good filament, but had the same result.
If you want a filament you can load, and start a long print, without any doubt, DON'T buy this, DO buy Hobbyking filament instead.
This filament is a £12+12 mistake I'll never make again.

Good filament, terrible color

Dec 05, 2016

Good PLA, likes to be printed quite hot 210-215C. But absolutely terrible color, looks like a life vest who has been out in the sun for way to long.
