The Grumman F9F Panther had the distinction of winning the US Navys first victory in the skys over Korea when it downed a Yak 9 in an air to air engagement. Developed at the end of WW2, with the maiden flight taking place in November 1947, this great looking aircraft was not in front line service for long before being replaced by newer swept wing designs, and ended its career largely in reserve squadrons. Despite this short career in aviation terms, the Panther has many fans.
This very scale looking EPO model very much does the Panther justice, and looks amazing in the sky with those huge colourful wing tanks. The very powerful alloy EDF unit supplies lots of thrust and sounds fantastic, performance is superb even on 3s with plenty of vertical. Being the hand-launch version gives you options for retracts if you so wish as the mounting plates are pre-fitted. All the high torque servos are pre-fitted, as is the fully programmable ESC and UBEC which gives the option of 4.8v or 6v output to the RX.
This is a quality scale model that is a little more involved than your average Plug N Fly in terms of build, but the reward for the RC pilot is one of the best flying & looking foam models in the 70mm class.

This is a great EDF and goes together really well, once you get the CoG right she flies like she is on rails,i upgraded mine to fly on 4s with the lander fan unit HK sells,it was sometime ago i got this model and the 4s set-up so i'm not sure if HK still sells them, but if they do you might want to think about doing the same as this model is now really fast, plus the sound off both the 3s and the 4s set-ups are really sweet and not that normal scream you get from the other EDF fan units out there but more of a whoosh sound it you know what i mean.
All the parts fit like a glove and i used gorilla glue on mine which has held up really well.
If you want or need any further info on this model check out rcgroups as there is a big thread over there with loads of good tips if you want them.
Top plane for great price HK and one happy customer here. The only electric retracts that fit this model correctly are the RC Lander electric retracts. Plug and PlayThis is a terrible model, parts do not fit well and the foam is weak. I will never buy another RC Lander model.Very good, quality EDF!Flies like a dream. The fan is the best I have had on a edf.The sound is awesome.
Before flight, check the cg.It is wrong in the manual. It`s about 3-4 cm from the air intake.I used the cg in the manual for the first two flights and it was to tail heavy.avionazo !!!!!! MUY ESTABLE ! NO ES MUY RAPIDO PERO TE DAS EL LUJO DE PILOTEAR UN GRAN JET
