The AXN Floater jet is a perfect model for beginners. Its stable flight characteristics and forgiving handling make it the perfect platform for learning to fly. Unlike some models in its class the AXN Floater-jet comes with ailerons right out of the box. This is a critical control surface that all budding pilots should master.
Constructed from strong EPO foam with a high gloss finish the AXN Floater-Jet is capable of achieving high speeds in a small amount of space or gliding around gracefully on the breeze only needing throttle to gain altitude.
The predictable flight characteristics, low wing loading and pusher prop also make the AXN Floater-Jet an ideal platform for FPV. Using a smaller battery such as a 1600mAh to 1800mAh 3S1P will allow for additional payload in the front of the aircraft and make finding the correct CG without having to add additional tail weight easy.
The included motor and 5x5 propeller offer both performance and flight time based on your flying style. You will require 4 x 9gram servos, a 1600mAh~2200mAh 3S1p Lipoly battery (depending on payload requirements) a 20Amp ESC and your own transmitter and receiver (Tx/Rx) to complete this model.
Proven time and time again the AXN Floater-Jet ticks all the right boxes for anyone looking to get in to the hobby as a beginner or intermediate pilots looking to get in to the exciting world of FPV flying.

Bought this for my go pro, and the best thing i ever did. The power of the stock motor is amazing. The climb rate is awesome. Only problem i had was the motor came off, but re glued it on and now its perfect.Love this aircraft very fast good practice plane for edf pilots this thing can take beating came down on a nose dive battery move forward messing the CG was able to save it front a nose crash still broke in 2 places a lill ca stickers like it never happened ..thinking of getting another to run 4sGreat beginners plane, lots of space, and more fun to fly than the Bixler. it's faster, and takes serious abuse.Great fun plane, using stock motor and prop with 2650 3 cell lipo I am able to take off
from ground, added teflon on wings and fuse. Its 2.5 to 3 times faster than bixler3.
approx; 65-70 mph and 15 flight time.BEGINNER BUYERS BEWARE: Don't make the mistake I made thinking that this, or any similar plane is a "beginner" rc plane, after reading many overly positive, mostly misleading descriptions on this site. If you have not flown an rc plane before, you CANNOT fly an rc plane, and you WILL crash. Don't dive straight into the hobby, start off with a much cheaper plane of some kind that you aren't worried about crashing, or if your lucky to have a nearby hobby shop with a flight simulator, use it. You will be worried about crashing this plane, it is capable of a lot more than crashing. A bit more to the product... What reduced my value and quality rating, is that rather annoyingly this does not come with any glue to put it together with. Very few to no glues an average person would know about and could find in the local supermarket, can stick this material together. Otherwise, this is a good product, respectably strong, easy to assemble and good looking.I have just received my AXN from Hobby King and to my surprise I didn't get the tube of glue in the parts bag. After chatting with CS, they inform me that IT IS NOT part of the kit. They tell me that a compatible glue to use is the clear foam glue BUT GUESS WHAT?????, it's on back order here in Australia AND upon checking the chat for this glue, it appears IT CANNOT be ordered here in Australia even from the International warehouse, so now I have to find an alternate glue to assemble this plane..................... NOT HAPPY :-(Its a great plane...however they didn't include glue with the package which is kinda annoying. But the worst part is they sent one with a USED or refurbished motor, you can tell one of the magnets was reglued with epoxy because it was messy and not done well while the rest of them were perfect. Not worth the hassle of trying to get hobbyking to replace it so overall a bad situation. Otherwise yeah get one its a nice plane.
Overall not a bad plane, you just have to know that it will tip stall at low speeds on turns, other than that flaw its a nice plane to fly and has a great straight glide, I even found a thermo which kept it flying and increased it's altitude without any motor power(first time I have done this). I am mainly using this plane as an FPV plane and therefor I have scratch built a balsa canopy with a camera mount, the balsa canopy is covered in blue mono-coat. A few other mods I have completed are the reinforced motor mount(balsa and mono-coat again), a belly access hatch and I modified a Bixler2 landing gear using large wheels so I can take off using FPV from the grass. The last upgrade I will be doing is changing the motor and placing a better Turnigy 2200KV motor on it, something a little more reliable than the one that came with it. Still waiting for that one. I have pictures of all the current mods in the files section if anyone is interested in checking them out.An amazing plane. Easy to fly for beginners but push up the power and you can do basic aero with it. Pull back the power and fly it like a sailplane. 2 solid crashes (including one from inverted) and essentially no damage that a bit of steam and boiling water won't fix. Only negatives are that the ESC ventilation is not great in really hot weather (airflow is mostly blocked by battery), aileron pushrods are slightly too short and the 5x5 prop is not very good. Get a good APC 6x4 prop, cut a small vent for the ESC (if you wish), add some bright graphics/stickers on the bottom of the wings and longer pushrods for the ailerons and you have as near perfect as possible beginner-intermediate plane. Still a go to favorite even in moderate winds.I like this plane so much that i've bought a new and now i'm go to make the wings removeable so i can take it with me on vacation.
My favorit beginner plane than comes walrus and then the bixler 2.
I don't have a bixler 1 so i can't give my opinion of that one.
Flys great whit 6x5 prop just little bit noisy.
