HobbyKing 3D Printer Filament 1.75mm PLA 1KG Spool (Fluorescent Green)

HobbyKing have come out with a huge new range of 3D Printer Filaments at prices that will have you printing all day and all night.

The range covers PLA, ABS, Flexible, Color Changing, Luminous, Nylon, Polycarbonate, Acetal (POM), Metal Composite and even a water soluble filament for printing molds. So there is a filament for every project you have in mind. HobbyKing filaments have a stable melting point, good round shape and most importantly a 0.05mm uniform diameter tolerance for a consistent flow rate.

PLA:

PLA has a lower melting point and prints easier than other materials. One of the most important features is that PLA is non-toxic, and even has a sweet smell when printing. PLA has a low shrinkage rate and it is very rigid with minimal flex. This material can print extremely high resolution models and is perfect for a wide range of uses. PLA is considered stronger than ABS but is more susceptible to cracking when subjected to flexing, impact or torsional loads so the mechanical needs of the print project need to be evaluated.

PLA has a huge range of vibrant colors and opacity for that perfect look whether it is artistic or utilitarian, in short a great material for 3D printing. PLA can be printed without the use of a heat bead, and can stick to glass or a PCB plate with a binder such as hairspray or white glue for a curl free print.

3D printing is a fun and exciting hobby with a wide range of uses from prototyping parts to making toys for the kids. Picking the right filament for your application is very important.

Not fluorescent!

May 14, 2018

Really clear, nothing like the picture. Does not light up under UV/black-light! Be aware that it's not fluorescent but more like transparent before buying this filament.

Nothing like the pictures.

This filament prints quite well but is very clear.I printed with 4 top and bottom layers and can still see through it. That is my main problem with this plastic, how clear it is. In my opinion it looks ugly so i don't see myself using too much of it unfortunately. The few prints i have done with this came out alright. It took a little bit of tweaking to get the prints working well. I print at around 218 to 220c and with a speed around 50 to 60mm/s. Just standard settings. It has an odd surface finish, kind of smooth but also a little rubbery...? it isnt flexable but when you run a finger along it it feels vaguely like really hard rubber. I don't really know how to explain it.
TL:DR
Prints fairly well. Colour is really faded and clear. I would call this a transparent green rather then a fluro green.

The color is far away from the color from picture. It is very transparent and faded color in reality.
