The NEW Co Pilot II system represents the culmination of years of technological development and manufacturing knowledge in commercial flight stabilization. FMA's patented Infrared thermo-technology for semi-autonomous control of R/C model aircraft has an outstanding reputation, with ten's of thousands of units sold. Adding an additional level of safety to model aircraft of all types, the time-proven concept has enabled pilots from all over the world to fly with confidence, learn new aerobatic manuevers, protect their investment in case of electronic or mechanical failure, and assist modelers of all experience and skill levels to just feel more confident when flying.
The CPII is far more than a simple wing leveling device. Yes, it will bring your aircraft to straight and level flight from any attitude simply by centering the control sticks, but the new system includes features and enhancements that go far beyond its predecessors. Fueled by the amazing new IRNet (Infrared network) for wire-free control of on-board avionics, setup has never been simpler. Just point the the wireless IRNet programmer at the aircraft, access the main menu option "Quick Setup" and Co Pilot II's advanced computer system walks you through a series of simple questions pertaining to how you have chosen to install the various components such as main sensor, vertical sensor, as well as how you have chosen to configure remote ON/OFF functions and new Flight Modes. Yes, the CPII includes all new 3D modes that can easily and safely enable you to learn or practice new maneuvers like inverted flight, knife edge, or vertical hover, all at the flip of a switch. If the aircraft falls out of the intended attitude, Co Pilot II knows it. It will de-activate the 3D mode, and activate level flight mode or Co Pilot OFF, whichever you have chosen.
The new smaller and lighter digital sensors and computer modules also allow for installation across a wide number of platforms. The system supports any conceivable aircraft configurations from airplanes, to heli's, to VTOL; any aircraft which require no more than 4 channels to operate pitch and roll. This includes support for split or differential ailerons, flapperons, all forms of CCPM helicopters and more!
Includes the vertical sensor which will allow automatic and continuous, in-flight weather calibration, the added intelligence of having the aircraft always recover from inverted flight to level flight by rolling the aircraft, and access to all 3D flight modes.
CPII Computer Module (LxWxH): 44.55 x 28.32 x 11.68mm

CPII Vertical Sensor (LxWxH): 24.51 x 17.80 x 9.14mm
IRNet Router (LxWxH): 30.60 x 25.52 x 13.51mm (not including mount tabs)
CPII Computer Module: 19g
CPII Main Sensor: 7g
CPII Vertical Sensor: 5g
IRNet Router: 8g
Ratings: System will operate on normal R/C voltage range of approximately 3.5v to 6v.
Power Source: System is powered from your radio's receiver.
Outputs: Please be advised the CPII systems are designed to fit small helicopters without any additional components. For lager heli's and/or fixed wing aircraft, you may require standard aileron extensions for optimal placement of vertical and/or main sensors.
Applications: Adds safe and effective flight stabilization to any R/C model aircraft for assistance in learning new aerobatic manuevers, protecting your investment in case of electronic or mechanical failure, and assisting modelers of all experience and skill levels to just feel more confident when flying.
Radio: The Co Pilot 2 is not an RF device and therefore it will operate with any type or brand of R/C radio system including AM, FM/PPM, PCM on any frequency as well as all 2.4GHz spread spectrum systems.
Features: Co Pilot II includes embedded stick priority with adjustable gain which contributes to a super-natural flying "feel"
grazie hkwith My second Purchase i had to review such a wonderful pruduct ,after many near loss situations ,this saved the day ., and Many times i wanted another system in my other plane daily used, and Daily FPV flights ,Now Made Very easy with this device . Keeps Harizion ,strait and strady . keeps plane steady when you let go the controle stick. ,makes it easy to use goggles ,with 2 hands if needed .this device Is toatal Hands free flight . if you want to take a break this will Hold keeping Heading or direction, making easy turnes and flying in all. like a guide . Like another person there holding your Hand .. no longer Just a FPV planes . but any Can be FPV with this Fitted .its a toatal guide line ,hold, stable,.I've installed co-pilot 2 in to a max thrust riot and it dose what it say's on the tin.
On the first flight it felt a bit strange because the plane wont's to self right all the time and this makes the sticks feel a bit responsive there is no need to level the plane after any stunts put the stick in the centre and the plane dose the rest all by it's self (if set to self level) I still have to play around with the programmer (stick priority and gain) to get the feel I wont with my flying stile.
I've tried out some of the 3D modes and these work very well remembering that the riot is more of a sport trainer than a 3D plane.
All in all a very good flying experiences with co-pilot 2 this could save any one getting in to 3D a few or $ in repair bills as for a new rc pilot it will make a great training aid (still with some help)
co-pilot 2 could turn just about any plane in to a good 2nd trainer plane co-pilot 2 will not fly the plane for you.
The installation was straight forward with no major problems using the manual in the file tab above which you can print out.
Set up first time with the programmer and i was in the air in about 1 1/2 hours with no issues.
I hope to post a video as soon as i get time to show the fight and installation on the riot I hope this helps Happy flying and good luck
