    The FrSky L9R long range receiver has just raised the bar in 2.4ghz long range performance.

    L9R receivers boast reception sensitivity that doubles the range of existing FrSky X Series receivers. The L9R supports 9 standard servo outputs and support for 12 channels using S.BUS.

    This is the perfect long range receiver for the FrSky Taranis, with its built in XJT Module or any of the XJT module Series system with module based radios such as the Turnigy 9XR and 9XR Pro.

    Note: The L9R receiver is not compatible with FrSky V8, D8, and D16 Mode. The LR9 is a non-telemetry receiver and does not support data hub or smart port functions. The Bind and fail safe setting procedures vary from previous X series receivers, please see the instruction manual for details.

    Super distance without the complication

    What can I say...... firstly its FrSky (which make awesome products at reasonable prices - just look at the Taranis!) and its a long range RX. Installation was a breeze, like most RX units, so not problems there. The antennae were easily fixed into place with some double-sided tape and seem to work well as the range on this unit is really quite remarkable and far exceeds my eyesight on a large plane. Its a great piece of reassurance to see the RSSI so high. Now that I have some confidence on the unit its going into a 'longer range' drone where RSSI is critical!

    Easy way for longer range

    Only needed to upgrade my EULBT taranis plus internal xjt module to latest firmware and after that i could use L9R with stock internal module and antenna. Only have test flyed my plane about 3km away on low altitude, but could easily go more according to RSSI readings. More than i need, but atleast now i dont't have to scare losing control :)

    the cheapest solution for medium range, a taranis x9d and L9R, I have completed a 13 km flight and turned back only because of video tx/rx limitations. At 13km RSSI showed 46%.
