There can be no doubt, the Gee Bee R3 is an amazing looking model and this great size Gee Bee has fantastic aerobatic performance to match it's head turning looks!

Made from tough EPO foam, this R3 is simple and fast to assemble, particularly as the brushless outrunner motor, ESC and servo's are all pre-installed. One of the most striking features of the R3 are the large wheel pants, these hide very robust, ply mounted under-carriage leg's and wheels that are large enough to tackle the roughest of strips with ease. For the final touch and to minimise flex, the R3 features easy to install steel rigging which is perfectly pre-tension courtesy of the supplied mounting springs. This is a large model for a foamy but it is also practical, the 1 pc wing is removable for easy transportation and the large battery hatch makes lipo swapping a breeze!

This superb looking R3 is a real head-turner, it has presence in spades both on the ground and in the air, it is suprisingly easy to fly and just looks great making those low n fast passes, but when you start to explore the aerobatic capability of the R3, there is no doubt, you will be impressed! The neutral airframe makes pattern style flying a breeze, Cuban 8's, knifedge passes, Split-S, stall turns, etc are all a joy, especially with a plane that looks this good, yet it is as well behaved as some trainers when just flown in circuit! This Gee Bee R3 is a brilliant sport model that is suitable for any field, it's size gives it tons of presence, it is ultra tough and flies superbly. Models that look this amazing are often hanger queens, not the R3, performance and practicality are combined in one great looking sport plane that is just so much fun to fly and own!

Ive been flying this plane stock, no mods. A little Fidely with the build concerning the undercarriage not seating flush. Not a big problem but considering the wheels and mounts are quite a large part of the plane. I've flown it with 2200 4s to 3000 4s mha batteries and the aircraft has plenty of power for the full range of aerobatics. I set the CG at 108mm and as some one else mentioned the battery is nearly all the way to the servo's. The pane seems a little tail heavy at this CG but doesn't overly effect the flying too much. I haven't noticed any tendency to tip stall at low speed. Flight times of 9 minutes with 15pcnt remaining. It does like a little power for landings. Overall I'm very happy with this plane

Very nice plane, and very easy to assemble. I am flying it on stock electronics, and it has plenty of power, and is easy enough fly, but needs to be landed under power, as it seems to have a tendency to tip stall. It is built for speed, as wing and ailerons do not appear to have sufficient area for successful 3d-ing. The tail wheel is miles to small for the weight of the plane, for me anyway, as I fly off very rough bitumen .... not really for the novice flyer, you would be better off with a full on 3d plane, as with low control settings, these are very easy to fly, and as a general rule, don't have tendencies to stall, and will float in for landings ...

Beautiful detailing on the plane, went together quickly except for the rigging which takes a bit of time to get adjusted. Very uneventful maiden, flew well out of the box. Able to do loops, knife edge and flat turns easily. All in all a very nice plane. Had it up for seven flights the first day off a grass field. The landing gear is quite rugged and handles the grass easily. I would definitely recommend the plane. The only mod I made was to make a tab with electrical tape to make removing the battery compartment cover easier.

A few flights in now and wow does this thing fly nicely! Really gets a lot of attention at the field. It is also surprisingly big! Takes off in about 10 feet if you want it to. Will cruise around at 1/3rd throttle very happily. I am using 3000 mah bats and after 5 min flights of mixed throttle usage only put about 1400 mah back in, so i'm sure 7 min flights aren't out of the question. The battery compartment is huge, so huge in fact that I have fit a 4500 mah pack in with ease!. Build quality is pretty good. My only gripes with the model are the way the tail wheel attaches to the rudder, The flying wires are slightly sloppy fitting ( loose but easily fixable) and that the elevator and ailerons don't have real hinges, just the foam join, although the plane does come with spare parts, to include a bag full of nylon or plastic hinges it would be nice if they were pre installed. A couple little things I would recommend. I put a light coat of finishing epoxy on the entire airframe. This not only protects the foam from little dings, dents and scratched, but also really brings out the color and ads a fantastic shine! Also, put heat shrink tubing on all of the points where the flying wires attach to the springs, this really helps keep them in place. In all I am VERY satisfied with this model

Have now flown the Gee Bee several times fly's really well however had slight rolling when no input from controls, after landing and close inspection noticed the elevator centre section was very weak and believe was twisting under load have now epoxied u shap piano wire to centre joint and looking forward to next flight ( hope hobby king take note of this could be dangerous ) suggest anyone buying this model check elevator for twist simple to put right before assembly.

I have recieved my Gee Bee R3 two days delivery, opening the box looks great, is now assembled and ready to go, so far seems fantastic value for money hope it fly's as good as it looks.
Problems encountered were assembly instruction photos not very clear, absolutely no info on the motor or ESC, ESC would not function so removed from the model is it programable ? is it bec or opto ? what max voltage would it take ?, also the motor is not marked at all so will it take a five cell lipo ?
On the verge of sending the ESC back as faulty my son said he had had the same problem and to adjust the travel to max on the throttle servo and now works perfectly, I wonder how many ESC's are sent back for being faulty when they are OK.
Just take your time assembling the model a lot of the plastic mouldings are handed, easy to stick them in the wrong place, close all the flying wire loops so the springs cannot come out and close all the spring hooks where required.
Foreseable problem if a wheel needs changing you will have to cut the side out of the spat to replace it, all in all really pleased with model so far
